The sun came out!

Suppose to have sunshine all week.

Maybe the flowers will start growing and blooming again.

Everything has been looking really droopy.

It would have been my Dad's 90th birthday today.

I had a hard time getting through the day.

I am glad it is over and now on to a new one tomorrow.

Happy Birthday Dad! I love you and miss you more and more each day.

He use to go to donuts every morning with his friends. They would all sit and talk about the current events or each others aches and pains etc.

He loved going everyday.

I hope he is enjoying his heavenly birthday eating donuts!

Ketchup And Mustard

Although those two things go well with hotdogs this is not about that.

I mean who names a rose bush Ketchup and Mustard anyhow?

Well I am sure the poor thing feels pretty upset about that, but take a look anyhow.

It is a floribunda. It makes me happy. 

Maybe I need to plant a hotdog bush next to it?😂

Tornado Warning

An extremely rare occurrence happened here.

We had an alert saying to seek shelter now due to a tornado.

We went outside to check out the so called tornado.

We didn't see one just a lot of hail and rain and a big cloud.

So we were safe for this one.

Hopefully we don't have another.

Once in my lifetime was enough for me.

This past year has been one for the history books.

I am so wishing for calm, uneventfulness to finally come.

But what's next, an earth quake?

It's Time For The Weekend

We are heading into a 3 day weekend.

Some will celebrate by having BBQ's or events to welcome summer which is right around the corner.

Or...

The end of another school year,

graduations or weddings.

But Please don't forget...

It is Memorial Day Weekend.

Time to remember the ones who lost their lives serving our great country.

Without their sacrifice we would not be celebrating at all.

May they never be forgotten.🕆

Heads All Accounted For

You never know what may happen after a big storm hits, but the heads are all accounted for.

Wait, what? It is the end of May.

We had pouring rain and hail.

Barrel Rings

Wine or whiskey,  these are super easy to make and fun for the garden.

I made four in under a half hour.

You just need to drill two holes in each ring. One on top, one on bottom. Then you need two bolts, 2 washers and 2 nuts for top and bottom. Stick the bolt through each ring and tighten with the nut. That's it.

It is seriously the easiest project to do and it is a recycling project.

I have made  a lot of them over the years. My brother use to bring the rings to me from his recycle bin where he lived. 

I have seen some of these barrel ring balls go for 100 dollars at vintage fairs.

Basically they are free to make because people throw away the rings when the barrel falls apart.

I added a new face and hair for the fisherman.

Now that is a face only a Mother could love no doubt.

A tree branch fell and broke the previous face last week.

I love the bright colors of summer. It is so festive!

I found this little parrot on clearance at Kohls.

I love sales. I also love how his tail matches the plate behind him.

Perfect combo.  The plate the bird and the planter.

Although you can't see the planter, you just have to take my word on that.😁

And last, but certainly not least, is this man head planter.

He looks pretty awesome today. His "hair" is filling in so nicely.

I expect a few blooms on him sometime soon.

These guys are so much fun.
