Jack O' Rooster

Happy Halloween From Jack. He is dressing up as a Rooster this year. He has other ideas for the costume for later when he can sneak into the chicken pen incognito. He looks pretty dashing in his new duds I think. Not sure how the hens will feel though. Hope you all have great Halloween!!!

Halloween Pumpkin

This picture was taken in October of 1983. It is our cat on one of the pumpkins my dad grew in his garden. It was the smallest pumpkin and was able to be moved to our house for Halloween. The pumpkin weighed about 200 pounds. We did not carve it. Instead we sat it on our porch for a nice display for the season. After Halloween was over a neighbor came and picked it up and hauled it home to can some and make pies out of some. We were lucky enough to get a pie. I had never had a pie made from fresh pumpkin before and it was outstandingly Delicious(-: It makes me hungry for Pumpkin Pie. I might have to bake one this weekend.(-:

Sign of the Times

A sign we helped my dad make and put up especially for this Election. It is hung on a D8CAT Dozer blade with the arms sticking up in the air. Don't forget to Vote on November 4th!!!

Whats New Today?

Sanding...I am working on an old Motel Chair for my Dads GF's sister. Its a lot of work because it was rusty/pealing paint/etc. So I sanded it and put a coat of paint on it and sanded it again this morning. Its going to be a long process. Hopefully she will like it. She wants it to be the same as her sisters chair that I made a couple years ago for Mothers Day. This is what the chair I made looked like.

I am not sure it will be exactly the same and that worries me because it is hard to do something exactly the same. But I am going to try. The chair itself is different. Its not the same exact chair etc. So anyhow that is my latest project.

Clerodendrum bungei 'Cashmere Bouquet'

Is hopefully going to be dead. Yay!!!!! I hate that plant worth a passion. It smells horrid and I can't wait to have it gone from the yard. It may have a pretty flower but the plant itself is nasty. It is extremely invasive and it requires a ton of water. Water which is very rare nowdays. Goodbye to a nasty unwanted plant. May it rest in peace(-:

Big Beautiful 5 dollar fern

I was thrilled to see this at the grocery store while I was doing my shopping yesterday. I of course threw it into the basket with the many grocery items I had. It fits the spot I wanted it for in my daughters room perfectly(-: I love bargins!!!
