Blooming Flame Violet

I have had this for months and this is the first time I have seen it bloom.

And todays bread. I figured out what was wrong. It was the water.

I was using filtered water from my fridge. So it was ice water. I now leave the water out on the  counter in a pitcher over night to warm up.(-: End of blowing up bread. Yay! I guess I never thought of that before. I always use warm water for yeast breads, this recipe for sour dough just says water. So since I have well water and there is a lot of minerals in the water I used filtered water. Anyhow end of mystery of why bread was not rising. To cold.(-:

Sourdough Bake

Finally satisfied with my bread after a year of trying. I think I figured out what I was doing wrong as far as looks of finished bread(-: I am going to make some more tomorrow and find out if that was the problem.(-: This bread Baker has not thrown in the towel yet. Stay tuned it may happen tomorrow (-:



Owl Update

I found a partial hatched egg shell on the ground below the tree.

So owlets must have arrived. The mom is sitting patiently on the nest still and Dad is sitting near by.

Fuzzy White Mold?

This was everywhere yesterday morning. At first it looked like fur from an animal. But after looking close and touching it, I could see it was not.

 

It was everywhere though. All over the field where I walk. When I touched it, it folded up. Today it is raining so none today. Can't wait to see if it is back again at some point.

Butterflies At Joann's

The Princess and I took a little journey to Joann's the other day. We found some great deals on butterfly things. I bought all the Monarch Butterfly plant stakes. Which were the only 4 colors like these below. They were so pretty and so real looking. They had other colors like purple etc.

 

We love them poked around in the pots in the Butterfly garden. Last year we had several real ones visit us. I hope this year we have more. It was so fun to watch them fluttering around from flower to flower.



Sand

Why? LOL I am worn out. One yard of sand has done it. Got it all unloaded and spread around the beach garden. It looks so nice and clean. No pictures because I was to tired to go in the house and get the camera. At least it was raining and cool instead of a 100 degrees. Things are going to be so great this Spring! Everything looks so good and growing so good.
Yesterday I noticed a new family has moved in one of my birdhouses.

I guess the birds will have to find another place to hatch out their family this year.



Weekend Fun

Some people would think...
Oh she went on vacation?
Um Nope!
I worked all weekend in my yard. It was a disaster from Winter and all the rain/wind etc we have had. I have 3/4 of it cleaned up. It is looking so nice. Excited for next weekend so I can do more.

 

 Even the girls were happy, digging and scratching.

 The fountain is awesome. I enjoy it each time I walk by.

 I planted 150 daffodil bulbs along the driveway. Not sure they all bloomed, but next year will be nice!



Owlet Hatch Time

I checked out the owl nest yesterday and I could not see any little fuzzy heads poking up yet. They may have just hatched though. I will check today again.



It Is Looking Like Spring Here

That is in-between rain and hail and a few snow drops.

Ha! I am ready to get outside and play!

These Bald Eagles keep dropping in to check on me. I have seen them several days in a row here. We have huge digger pines around our yard which they love, as all birds and what-not do.

One is younger and one is older.

Also in another digger pine tree is the nesting Great Horned Owls. Soon they will hatch.

I think about mid month. This year we have a drone that will be able to peek in on them as they grow. I am sure Mom will love that. We won't do that until they are older of course. It will be fun to see a video though. They don't mind us at all. They come back every year even though we are noisy neighbors. I think they like us as much as we like them.

 

Also today was another bread day. Still working on the outside. The taste is awesome.
