Happy Hump Day!

Getting a drink of water.
This little bird looks like it is bowing it's head in prayer.

My Mom's clematis has bloomed all summer.😁

Happy First Day of Fall

Well it is here.
Whether we like it or not.
Some do some don't.
With Fall comes cooler weather so that is good!
I am ready for that for sure.
The leaf raking....not so much.

This little bully hummingbird is still sitting around waiting.
He chases all the other hummingbirds away.
This is his favorite place to sit.

So this happened on Friday.
The Princess was at school waiting for lunch in the cafeteria and a classmate bit her.
Drew blood!
She said it was because her friend wanted  her hot lunch ticket.  The Princess did not want to give it to her so the other girl bit her.
You would think parents would be called etc.
Nope!
No one got in trouble or anything.
A bandaide was given to cover the bite.
No cleaning of the wound. Ugh!!!!!
The Princess was very upset about the whole thing because this girl was her friend.
When she got home she told her Mom.
Well my daugher called the other girls Mom because she knows her.
They were both surprised that it happened and that nothing was said or done about it.

What do you think?
It is sad how terrible things have gotten at schools.
Five years ago parents would have been called at the least.
The bite would have been cleaned and bandaged.
I am at a loss for words. I feel so bad for the Princess.
I know she was pretty upset.
Just glad it was a girl that she knew.
I can't imagine if it was someone she didn't know.

I think a dog would be in more trouble if it bit someone.

I told the Princess maybe her friend is a vampire.
She laughed at that.

I hope the wound heals fast and the Princess has a good week.

Salmon Fishing

My husband has never went salmon fishing so for Christmas last year my daughter got him and her hubby a guided tour on the river.
They both caught their limit which is two.

They had a great time. Salmon were biting like mad I guess.
I'm sure they will go fishing again.
Last year they went Striper fishing on the river with the same guide.

I stayed home and worked outside all day. I got a lot done.
I am sure tomorrow will be fun at work.😬

Fall is in the air.
They are saying a chance of rain sometime tomorrow.
I hope it really does rain. It would be a great thing for us here.
Well enjoy your week.
I will try to check in sometime.

Friday the 13th Full Moon

Seems like as I get older there are a lot more "lasts" for me.
Like this full moon last night. It won't happen again until 2049.
Well I will be long gone by then.
We went out and watched it rise.
Took a video.
This was one of the pictures.
It was pretty as all full moons are. Nothing out of the ordinary except it happened on Friday the 13th.
Other then that it was a pretty calm night. Got to sleep at 8:30 and up early today to head to a soccer game to watch the Princess.
Enjoy your weekend!

Never Forget

I will never forget.
I remember watching the breaking news as they were saying a plane crashed into the first tower.
I thought it was an accident.
I never thought we were being attacked until I saw on t.v. the second plane crash into the second tower.
Then my heart stopped. I knew this was an attack.

We would find out later there was more in the works.

Tower of Voices at the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, Somerset County. Standing 93 feet high

The days that followed were heart breaking.
So many stories of death.
So many people that tried to help.
So many that died trying.

I thought of my son and husband and a huge group of kids who were just at the world trade center the previous month for the Boy Scout Jamboree tour.
They were on the top floor of the trade center.
They ate pizza.
They had a great time.
They all thought they would return one day.

Never forget.
Always remember.
My thoughts and prayers are with all who lost their lives and those who were left behind.

Tick Tock Tick Tock

I got a new antique clock.😀

"The Lady," is from France.
She runs about 10 minutes fast so I have to adjust her.
She chimes on the hour and half hour.
She fits right in with the other antique clocks I have.
Ding, dong, cuckoo, bird calls and Westminster chimes.
It can get quite loud here on the hour.😂

If I call out, hey lady what time is it, will she answer?
No.
She is not Alexa.😁
I prefer the old fashioned way of telling time.

Anyhow,
I am so happy I found her.

Coasting Into Fall

This Princess is back to school!
The virus has gone. Thank God!
I got her this cute little unicorn t-shirt and took it over the day I baked the bread to cheer her up.
She loves unicorns.
And I love her!❤❤❤
Anemones are fully charged and large and in your face tall!
Everything seems to have grown to great heights this summer.

Dainty Bess is so dainty. It is one of my favorites.

Mexican sunflower.  The flowers are deep orange.
I love the color of the flowers, but I just don't like the plant itself.
It is huge and dense with leaves. Not many flowers like I expected it would have.

 Rudbeckia
I still like the marigolds of last summer the best. The Rudbeckia are nice and I would have more of them again, but I loved the marigolds and how they formed a lovely bright circle around my willow tree garden. Nothing else has compared to that. So next year I will try again.

I am stressing out trying to figure out how I will get all the leaves raked and the yard cleaned up when fall really does show up. I worry about that every year. I have no idea why. It seems like it was a year long process this year. The leaves were constantly falling all season it long.
We did have a lot of weird weather. The late snow storm added to the mess.
Then we had the heavy rains through out the spring, which I loved, but it brought down more leaves.
Then we had the tornado cloud and wind and hail and rain. We actually had a couple hail storms early in the spring. It was a wild year. I love rain, but can do without all the hail and wind.
So here we go again heading into the fall. What kind of weather will it bring?
One thing for sure is cooler temperatures.
I am really looking forward to that.
Enjoy your last days of summer!

Sourdough Bread

The Princess was sick this week. She had some type of virus.
So I got busy yesterday and made some sourdough bread for her.
You may recall it is a two day process. I make the dough/bread loaves the first day and stick in refrigerator. The following morning I take it out let it rise and bake it.
My Dad always said that the best thing to eat when stomach is upset is sourdough toast and hot tea.
So I took both over this morning.
I hope it tastes good because I didn't even try any.
Hopefully she is feeling back to normal soon.
She has another day to rest up and back to school on Tuesday!
