Stupid Meat Bees

Hi it's me Jack again.
I am feeling under the weather as you can see by my sad face. I have perfected the look for my Mom and Dad so they will feel real sorry for me and give me extra attention. I don't get enough as it is you know!
Anyhow, this morning a nasty meat bee decided it would take a bite out of my right paw. I am holding it up for you all to see in the picture my Dad took.
It was feeling very bad for a few hours after it happened and required constant attention and rubs on the fur! I think I will survive but I am not going to mess with those meat bees again! They are mean and hateful.
Well, I wanted to let my fans know the hardships a Rat Terrier has to endure. I must go and lay down now. I think I need another treat and a nice massage.

Pretty Hibisicus Flower

I finally remembered what it was after I found the tag for this Hibiscus. It is a 'Luna Pink Swirl' Disco Belle Hibiscus. It is two toned white and pink. Last year I bought a pony pack of hibiscus and we had all that smoke from the fires here all summer. Nothing really bloomed well. I am sure I missed it or it never bloomed before. I am enjoying it this summer!!! I have a Lord Baltimore that is about ready to bloom too. I will post pictures when it does!

A Day With Captain Jack

Ahoy Mates, its me, Captain Jack! I would like to share the pictures from todays trip to the lake...

This annoying Osprey sat in a nearby tree and squawked at us! How rude! My Dad caught two fish and the Osprey caught none! Ha!



One of the nice trout my Dad caught. I am not sure why humans make such a fuss over such a slimey critter.

This dragonfly landed on my dads rod. I thought it was worth a picture. My Dad did too!

The pesky ducks swam around and around the boat and taunted me. I could catch them if I wanted to. I just didn't want to!

Staying Cool

Not much happening here. Its been 105 degrees or hotter everyday. Trying to keep things watered and stay cool is about it.
I had a bug for the past week and I am finally feeling back to normal(-:
I hurried out this morning to mow lawns and clean up. Another warm day ahead.
I Hope everyone is having a great week and staying cool as well!

Another Saturday At The Lake

It was to hot so we headed home around noon and went to see Harry Potter! Last time I looked it was 112 degrees out! The theater was nice and cool and a welcome place to go!

Bottle Bug

On the Garden Junk Forum we had a (Christmas in July) Summer Junk Gift Exchange. This is what I made for my person.

It was made from an old red flower vase. I drilled holes to attach the wings/antenna/hanger and feet. I glued the large half marbles on for eyes. I also used epoxy glue to hold the wings etc in place. I thought it turned out pretty cute.

Bottle bugs are just something fun to hang in the garden or on your patio etc.


You might remember a few weeks back I made the bug out of old used metal items.
This is the same idea just using a bottle instead.

The wings were from a Home Interiors wall hanging that I got at the Salvation Army. It was fun to make and I am happy to say it flew off to his new home and arrived in one piece!
You may be thinking but this is Friday...where are the bloomin' flowers?
