Planning For Spring

I am starting to get the beds cleaned up for the winter months ahead. Looking forward to spring and all the new blooms I will see.
I decided to add another arbor to the garden and looked online to find one that matched my other one I bought this past summer.
This is what I got.
I will not use the side shelves.
This is like the one I got this past summer, but a bit smaller.  It will work perfect for the spot I have picked out for it to go.
So now I have something to look forward to.
Hopefully it arrives in great shape and I can get it put up next weekend!

Witchy Poo Make Over

I made this witch about 10 years ago. and it was time for a new doo and a new outfit.
I went to Jo Anns and found some nice new fabric for a dress.
Now she is all set for Halloween.(-:

Nest Is Down

We got up this morning early and headed out to the nest to take it down.
It was a tad unnerving, but I climbed up the ladder and got to work.
I had to remove a few limbs that were in the way and then I cut down the nest. I slipped a huge plastic bag  around the nest and as I cut off one remaining branch, it stirred up the remaining hornets and they came flying out of there into the bag.
We put them into the freezer for their demise.
We will wait for a few days and then get it out and see how they faired.(-:

Hornet Nest Removal

Today we bid farewell to our Summer Time Buddies.

They didn't seem to mind being vacuumed into the shop vac. It was a very easy and uneventful method of removal. Tomorrow I will remove the nest and put it the freezer so I can save the nest for display.
It was really not bad having the hornets around this Summer. They never stung me or bothered me at all. Unlike the meat bees and wasps. Ugh. I wish they would go away.
So Summer came to an end and Fall began.
I hope it goes smoothly and we get some rain soon!

The Princess Is A Big Sister

Baby Brother arrived September 12th @ 6:30PM

He weighed in at 7lbs 4 oz and was 21 inches long.
His name is Vincent Lee.
After his Dads Grandpa Vincent
And his Mom's Grandpa Joe Lee

We got to see him a couple hours after he was born. (-:

And the next day...

Busy days ahead. The Princess is adjusting, although it has been pretty difficult for her.
Being a Big Sister is a tough job.(-: She will be o.k. though.
We are all tired and ready for some sleep at my house! We have had the Princess for most of the week. We took her home today.  I told her to call me if she needed a break from the Big Sister job.

Labor Day

Nothing planned today. Just a nice relaxing day.(-:
I know famous last words.
Still waiting on the baby.
He is not ready to make an appearance yet.

I made a little planter out of an old sombrero chip/dip dish of my Moms. (-:

Welcome September

It seems like it was just January.

We get a break from smoke here and then it comes back.
So in between smoky days I work outside. We are all sick of the smoke.
No rain in the forecast.
I guess the fires will just burn themselves out eventually. So sad.
Life goes on here, but there is a sadness that lingers. So many people lost their homes.
We drove around the fire area a couple weeks ago and it was just to sad to bare.
It will never be beautiful again in my lifetime.
It will take years and years if it ever is again.
I just can't believe it is all gone.
I am so thankful we are still here and we have a home.

Anyhow, enough sad talk...on to happy thoughts...

Here are a few things that are still going strong.

Oh and last, but never least, are two new used statues for the creature garden.
