Recycled Cement Mushroom

When we built our home 18 years ago there were many left over drops of cement. This one I grabbed because it looked so much like a mushroom. Now that it has aged it blends into the landscape well.

Our Recent Tennent

I thought we had a rabbit that lived nearby. I didn't know she lived in the yard. How funny. I know most people won't think its funny to have a rabbit living in their yard but I do. I always loved the Beatrix Potter stories. I also have many rabbit statues around the yard. I guess she feels at home. Jack won't be happy when he finds out she lives here though...(-:
When I was a teenager my dad brought me home a baby Jack Rabbit that I raised on a bottle. She was so beautiful. I loved her so much. One day my dad said it was time to set her free and we took her into the woods near our home and let her go. I really missed her but I knew she was going to be happier running around in the woods. Most Jack Rabbits are ugly and their fur is sparse. This rabbit looks pretty well kept. I guess that is because she has been eating all the lovely plants in my yard. I need to pick up a bag of Purina Rabbit Chow at Tractor Supply when I go there next time.(-:

Bloomin' Tulip

This is the Christmas gift my brother made me! I still can not find my camera so I had to dig the old Sony dinosaur out of storage to use. Its one of those initialize and finalize disk type ones. It makes me crazy. The battery is dead so I have to keep plugging it in etc. I hope I find my other camera!!!!
Anyhow, this creation was made using an old glass lampshade welded onto a rebar stem with rebar leaves. I just love it!!!
This creation was made with all recycled materials. As you may recall from previous posts my brother is a dumpster diver and "resues" things to reuse. Hope you enjoy the picture. And.... yes, that is rain in the picture!!!!!!!

Spring is Over...Winter is Coming?

At least that is what the weather report says(-: Goodbye 80 degree days I will miss you...
I worked this past week like a crazy person cleaning up leaves and planting bulbs. I got a yard of compost over the weekend and finally finished putting it around today. I wanted to get everything in order for our (hopefully) winter like weather coming soon! I still have more to do but I will have to wait till later to finish. At least maybe I can get some housework caught up now(-: I hope everyone is doing well and staying warm if you are living in a cold wintery region!

My New Sun Face

This is what my DH got me for my birthday! Its a whoppin' 39 inches from ray tip to ray tip across his face! I love sunfaces and this one is my new favorite(-:
It was another lovely day here in Northern CA. I didn't check the final high of the day but it was in the 70's(-:

It was 78 here yesterday!!! I think Spring has arrived a tad early this year!!!!
It's fun to work outside in the middle of January in capris and a t-shirt!!!
Is it to early to plant the veggie garden? Go swimming? Suntan? Hmmmmm....(-:
This is really weird weather but before anyone freaks out...I remember in 1977 it was the same and again in 1991. In 1991 we were swimming in February! It was 100 degrees outside! So its just another weird year like that and I am going to enjoy it!
Today I have more pruning to do and then planting a few new roses. Raking, and clean up are also on the list. Enjoy the day!!!!
