Last Day of May

Did the month fly by for you? It seems that things are moving right along here. We have had some hot days, but they have not reached 100 degrees yet. I'm sure that day is coming soon.

We had a new heating/air conditioner unit installed. So we should be nice and comfy with that this Summer.

Soon the well digger will begin drilling a well for us so we will have our own well instead of sharing between houses like we have for 25 years.
It started off as a temporary thing but after my Grandpa passed we never needed to have our own well since no one lived next door. Now that my Dad has passed and my brother and his wife live there part time we need to have our own. I will be a happy camper when that is all finished.

I decided on what to use on the old plow disk table. I found these totally adorable Mushrooms on line. I call them Grandpa and Grandma Mushroom.  I bought the snail at a local store.

I felt like it needed something else so I added the teapot with some succulents. I disturbed the ground cover a lot during that process so it has had a little set back. I am sure it will pop back up soon!

 

 

I also found a new butterfly for the garden. It is glass with metal frame. Love it!

Carpenter Bees

Went to a nursery yesterday and saw these big huge bees. They were buzzing around like hummingbirds! It was crazy.
The person who owned the nursery said they are carpenter bees. I thought they were interesting but I did read that they are a problem in some areas.

Craigslist Items and More

I found these on Craigslist for $1 each. How could I pass them up?

Cute rock face. I love rock faces! The Princess loves rock faces! I can't wait till she comes over to see this one!!!

I got the wire teapot on Craigslist. The pan of sedums I got from my Favorite plant sale at...Simply Plants! I just stuck them together(-: They are in the butterfly garden.

Another wire teapot. I haven't decided what to do with it yet. I have more sedums I got at the plant sale. I am sure I will add them to this.

And this. Long story short...as I can be...LOL.

I ordered this super cute butterfly side table online. At least I thought it was super cute. When I got it it was total junk. Infact the top was suppose to be a mosaic. It was all broken and put together terribly. I was so disappointed. I wrote the company a letter and told them. They said they would refund my money and to keep the table....aka toss it. Of course since I am a trash recycler I trashed the top and kept the bottom. Painted it black and added the disk top planted with ground cover. Ta Da..a new side table that works for me(-: Win Win!

Of course this is not a Craigslist item it is a hydrangea growing in the garden in full bloom. Love it!

The weather has been perfect for all my plants lately. I know that is about to come to an end soon. I have to enjoy it while I can(-:

Making Memories

This is a few weeks old but it cracks me up whenever I see it. The Princess loves to go and pinch all the noses on all the creatures through out the yard. It is a little game we play each time she comes to visit. It makes us laugh. She is just so darn cute. I love her so much.

Well I waited three years for this to bloom. Was it worth the wait? Yup it was. This is a huge flower. It is dinner plate size. So glad I didn't give up(-:

More Owlet Pictures

I just love them so much. They have flown off. I went to check on them this morning and they were gone.)-: So I guess I will have to find another thing to keep me busy. Oh Gardening? Yup that should do it. I did do some deadheading this morning. We had some light sprinkles last night so it was perfect today. It feels like rain again tonight. Hope so. We are drying up like a desert here.

Owlet Update

The owlets have flown to a new tree and are getting ready to leave the area.
They are growing so fast. I have enjoyed watching them grow up. I will miss them so much.
I am pretty sure they will be gone in the morning.
