Happy Tuesday

 The tiger lilies are blooming.

This daylily I have missed the bloom everytime it has opened. I caught it today finally.

They only bloom for a day so if you are not watching you miss it.

I have had this daylily for years and it is a slow bloomer. Last year it didn't bloom.

Actually it is suppose to bloom twice during the summer, but hasn't.

I found a cute angel planter at a thrift store.

I painted it chalk white.

This angel and small one in the planter above were at Rite Aid. Everything was 75% off.

I sprayed them with some white chalk paint too.

I love bargins and its so easy to spray paint them.

That is all for today. Hope your day is going well.

Happy Monday

It is a blooming crazy adventure in my garden right now. Even with the heat wave over the weekend everything seems to have made it.

The lilies have opened up around the barrel fountain. Of course the sun has not hit the solar panel yet again, but I didn't want to forget to get a picture of the pretty orange color.

I enjoy the flowers so much. It is so peaceful and relaxing to wander through the yard.

The tiger lilies are starting to bloom. I will get some pictures of those next time.

Enjoy your day!

Another Week Has Come and Gone

First off thank you for all you thoughts and prayers for my brothers surgery.

I can't believe how fast this week went. It started out slow because of my brothers surgery and worrying etc. I am glad the week is over and we are moving on to a new week.

My brother got released from the hospital yesterday. He was suppose to stay for a week, but he was doing so well they sent him home. He is doing great!

So anyhow how about some pretty flower pictures to end your week!

Enjoy your day and have a great week ahead!

Long Post

It has been a trying week. I am sad, happy and worn out all at one time.

To start the week my brother had to have surgery to remove a huge 5 pound tumor that was growing in his abdomen.  In February his regular doctor found it and sent him off for an ultrasound. Then he referred him to an oncologist. You can only imagine the worry from there. Fast forward to June after two biopsies and two CT Scans muli doctors and they still did not know what it was. The only way to find out for sure was to remove it for testing. The biopsies were sent to San Fransisco for research, but all they found out was that it did not react to radiation or chemo. The doctors were pretty sure it is not cancer though.

Back in October he was trimming a tree and fell onto a limb that poked him very hard, but did not break the skin. He had a huge bruise that lasted a long time. He wasn't seen for that at the time, but he believes that is what caused the tumor to grow.

Anyhow, we still do not know what it is. It is out and sent off for further testing.

Did you want to see a gross picture?

Of course you do.

Enquiring minds and all that right?

Skip on by if you don't want to see if you don't like gross stuff. LOL

I find it all facinating myself. It is amazing what the human body can do.

Last nice pretty picture and then pictures of surgery.

-----------------------------------------------------------

And the nice incision.

Anyhow, he will be in the hospital for a week and then three months of recovery.

He is not looking forward to that because he is an outdoors person and hates sitting.

I think he will push himself to get better quickly so we'll see.

We are just so glad that he is on the road to recovery and doing good.

The bad news I mentioned at the top was a dear friend of mine died.

I don't know what happened and I read it on Facebook of all places.

This was very shocking and sad.

We met in Junior high at the skating rink. (-:  He went to a different Jr. High then I did.💓

We ran track and cross country together at the same high school.

He was also a friend of my brothers. I haven't told my my brother yet due to his surgery.😭

Of course after he graduated from high school he took off to join the Navy.

He lived all over the country so we didn't see each other, but kept in touch over the years thanks to the internet.  My brother stayed in touch with him too and saw him several times. He lived closer then I did.

He was a friend for almost 50 years.

I feel so sad.

The world lost a great person.

He was a retired Navy Seal.

He served his country and I am so proud of the man he became.

RIP Duane. You will be missed forever.💔

June 20th

I hope you are all enjoying your Monday.

It has been beautiful weather here. It is unbelievable actually. Last year we had a major heat wave 111 degrees plus. Everything was fried. This year it is the opposite. It has even rained a few times lately. It is very good for the flowers. They are loving it. It is suppose to warm up this week though.

Here is what is happening today.

I got the blue bench last year from Wayfair. I have really enjoyed it.

I am waiting for my aunts daylilies to bloom. They are late this year probably because of the weather. They are all over the backyard. It will be bursting with orange soon! Hopefully I can get pictures of that day!

The new water fountain area is looking so good. My husband got a couple paver-cobblestone-mats I guess you would call them and placed them in front of the fountain to step on. We filled around them with sand. It looks really nice I think. I keep forgetting that the fountain only works when the sun is hitting the solar panel. So it is not working at the moment. However this is what is looks like right now.

I can't wait until the daylilies are blooming. It will be really pretty.

I am glad it is finally summer vacation time. I have had to time to work in the yard everyday and get things done inside too.

Enjoy your day!

It's Lily Time

The lilies are starting to bloom.

I always look forward to this time of year. They are so pretty and put on a fabulous show for the time they are blooming.

I have a lot of lily bulbs so check back in a few days to see what has started to bloom.

The daylilies are starting to open up now too!

Last year we had a major heat wave before the daylilies could bloom so a lot of them were fried.

This year it has been perfect weather. I am hoping they all pop open soon. It will be a wonderful sight.

Of course other things are blooming too so threw in a few more pictures.
