More Hibiscus

 The days are flying by.
Soon my mornings will be filled with school.
I am sure going to miss sitting and enjoying the garden.
It seems like once school starts the time goes even faster.
Getting chores done seems much more difficult.
Soon the summer is over and fall is here.

Even now, after all these years, I don't look forward to school starting.
I know some parents do, but I never liked it as a kid or a parent.
I always enjoyed summer and having the kids at home.
We always had plenty to do to stay busy... or not.
Just sitting around talking was enough.
Are there any parents out there that just enjoy sitting, talking and hanging out with their kids?
My mom never liked us when we were growing up.
We were a thorn in her side so to speak.
She had places to go and people to see and we were in the way.
Nothing was ever good enough for my mom.
I guess that is why I am the way I am.
I didn't want to be like her.

I'm At The Boiling Point

Black-eyed Susans. This year the marigolds did not do so well.
How does that work? Last year they were the show stopper.
This year they are just there.

Color Magic

Of course you can't go wrong with rudebeckia

Roses are holding their own in this heat.

I need to remember to plant more zinnas next summer.
I love the bright colors of them.
So that plan might work out like the marigolds did this year.
I planted again only to be disappointed in them.
But, I will try again next year.

The summer weather has been great so far, but the weekend has been smoking hot.
I am looking forward to fall.
I am tired of the heat.

Just like winter when it has rained for days and it is cold and dreary outside, I am ready for spring.

It is hard to keep everything watered and looking it's best.
Today it is suppose to be 107 degrees.
Next week around 100.
I can take the 100 degree days or less. Just not the 100 degrees plus.

So today I might head out to my favorite antique shop and see what is new.
Just to waste the day away.
Not much I can do in the garden anyhow.
Enjoy your Sunday!

Six On Saturday

The hibiscus are blooming.

Pretty rose that looks like a camellia.

 Gold nugget is growing well.
The lady head planter is doing well too.

A New Garden Angel

I found her at Ross. I rarely go there. I think she was left over from last year. She and her twin were stuck in a corner. Covered in dust and whatnot. So glad I went and found her and she has a new home in my garden.

This is her before I added some stuff to her shell.

Since she is in the back where all the sea things are I added some sea shells to her shell.
I planted some hens and chicks in there too.

So now she can watch over the garden and greet the many furry and feathered guests.

Moon Landing Anniversary

When my Mom passed I inherited these glasses.
I filled the glasses with a moon flower,
a few cosmos and some marigold leaves.

I remember these glasses from my childhood.
It was fun to dig them out and realize that was 50 years ago!
I bet there are not many people now days that would save a glass for 50 years.😀

Hopefully they will last another 50.

Maybe The Princess will fill them with flowers then.😀

Can you imagine what life will be like in 50 years?😱👽👻
Maybe the Princess will have a first man or woman on Mars glass to add to this collection. Or perhaps some other planet out there yet to be explored.
You never know what the future may hold.
I won't be here to celebrate those achievements with her, but I will be here in spirit.

Cheers!

Oh My

Things are blooming like  crazy.
The bees and wasps are happy campers.

A wonderful Orb and Fired Up rose.

I took the Princess shopping for school clothes last week.
We found some cool stuff. She picked everything out.
Including some light up Sketchers with LED lights in the toes.
They are called Twinkle Toes.
How cool is that?
She did a little dance when she put them on.
Sometimes shoes can just lift you off the ground can't they?
It is amazing.

Can you believe she is starting Kindergarten?
It is really hard for me to believe.
The years have just flown by.
I am going to miss having her on Thursdays.😢
I hope I can pick her up from school sometimes and go out for ice-cream or dinner etc.
Since I am working too, it makes it difficult.
After a couple weeks though, everyone should be in the groove of school.
It should be easier.😀
Right?

I went through all this when my kids started school.
You would think it would be a piece of cake.
But it is more like brussel sprouts.😬

My Princess
Oh I love her so.
She's my little ray of sunshine.
My shining star.
The light of my life.

Another Week Over

Time keeps flying along.
Soon July will be in the past.
It is hard to keep ahold of the summer.
Today in the garden I was finally able to catch a picture of this western tiger swallowtail.

The lotus

My Mom's Clematis is still blooming.

The orange hibisicus is so pretty.
