Another Cloche

I put an antique glass door knob on the top. The bottom is a large vase. Small plate under it. I haven't decided what to use it for yet. For now I put a battery candle inside.
I would like to find something interesting other then a candle.
Seems like candles are the thing I have the most of.
Picture was without the candle incase you are looking for it. (-:
Anyhow just wanted to say you can make your own cloche out of anything.
They are fun to make and can be useful too(-:

Cow Pie Art

Don't you just love these? This one looks a little different because of the rock in it's eye.
I just love how these cow pies look like faces or whatever. I look forward to walking and seeing these looking up at me.
I never touch these. They are the way they are naturally. It is just amazing to me.
Like they say...It is the little things in life...(-:

Quick Drive

Decided to load up and head out to a sale south of town.
Found some really cute stuff. I really wanted something else, but it was already sold. So I found these things and liked them better anyhow. (-:
Was a nice day and was nice to get out of town for the day.
The Hubby will be 60 next month so these two items are for him. He has a creature garden and they will fit right in.

]
My birthday was a couple of weeks ago so I picked out this awesome water fountain.
Their mouths fill up with water and they drop the water into the bowl below. This picture shows them dropping water at the same time, but they usually are one step behind the other. So it is constantly going. So cute and fun! Something to enjoy now before Spring arrives.
Things are actually growing like crazy here. I am working on getting the garden in order. Picked up more rocks and finished the pathways. I need a  couple yards of pea gravel to freshen up the pathways that are older. Also a bit of sand to touch up the beach area as well. A lot to get done here on the nice days so it is done before Spring arrives.(-:

Do You Collect Pillows?

Do they have a 12 step program for that?
I seem to have an addiction to fur pillows.
Not just fur pillows, but that is for another post.
I don't even hunt so no idea why.
I have quite a collection.
I will share the couch and one chair today.
I do love animals. Dead or Alive(-:

Creek Visit

Water was up at the creek. It has been raining.

A couple of interesting rocks.
First one is a bird?

This one looks like a dog to me. Maybe if you look long at it then it might look like one to you too(-:

New Pathway

I may not be able to get out of bed tomorrow, but the majority of the work is done. I still need about 30 or so more rocks to complete, but so far this is it. I left the daffodils in the middle of the pathway until they are done, then I will dig them up.

Suppose to rain so will work on it on the weekend maybe.
I have wanted to put a pathway here for a long time. The wild turkeys come in through this area and always smash down all the plants. By the end of the Summer it looks terrible. So now they have their own walkway. Lets hope they use it! (-:

The 60's/70's Lamp Redo Revisited

I am still enjoying this little candle lamp redo. I love the color and the way the glass has bubbles in it. I moved it to the living room coffee table. The sun shines on it in the afternoon and boy does it look pretty.
Kinda quirky and awesome at the same time. Makes me want to make something else. (-:

Sourdough Pizza Pockets

It is a good day to bake. Rainy and cold outside. Inside warm and toasty.
Update: These were quite yummy. They had that really nice crisp crunchy bite of sourdough. It has inspired me to make some dinner rolls for Wednesday(-: I love sourdough! Yum!

Early 1900's Mortuary Art

Found this at the my favorite antique store.
From the early 1900's in Long Beach, CA
All installed in it's forever place.
Will add a planter to the top in the Spring with pink petunias.
For now the angel will sit on top.
It has angels and birds all the way around it.

Rain

More wet weather headed this way with a possibility of snow. 7/10ths of rain this week. Seems like more , but the weather station never lies(-:

Water was flowing at the creek.

Excited to see the storm arrive. I do enjoy a big storm.
Enjoy!

Deer Visit

Woke up this morning and looked outside and there was this nice fellow munching away at the bird food. After he was done eating some leaves and what not he went over and laid down for a little rest.

Bread Knife Handle Complete

After many hours of sanding, carving and painting, sanding etc. This thing is as good as it is going to be.

I am not an expert carver/refinisher by a long shot. So this is it for me.
It is much better then the chewed version.

Obviously not as beautiful as the original was. )-: But, it is usable once again.
Hopefully my Mother is happy with it and will now take a break. (-:
Hope you have a happy Saturday!

Knife Refurbishing

This bread board was my Moms.

It came with a hand carved bread knife as well.
I decided to fix it where the dog had chewed the handle.

It is looking better but still more work to get it right.

Sand, sand, sand.
So in the meantime it sits on the counter out of reach.
Well the day before yesterday, I went to the kitchen to wash my hands and I glanced over at the knife.
There was wet finger prints on it as though someone had picked it up.
No one else was in the room.
I never touched it.
Before I could get my husband to come and see it, they were gone.

Spirits come and go around here, but that was a direct message I believe.
Just trying to figure out what that message was.

Enjoy your Friday!

Yesterdays walk was quite eventful. A lot happening because of the rain we had.  Cool mushrooms, rocks, moss and blooming manzanita.

Congrats to my Son-In -Law

I must brag a tad bit on this special guy.  He is the Princess's  Dad.
He received a great honor yesterday. Employee of the year.

He works very hard and many, many hours of overtime. He is a member of search and rescue and the dive team. He is devoted.
He is a good guy. Congrats to him!

Cows = Cow Pies

It is that time of year again when cow pie art pops up. Here is the first of the season.
A lovely smiling pie. (-: Usually they are on the drier side, but we have been getting a lot of rain lately so this one is on the wet side. (-:

If you have followed a long in the past you know that these are completely made by nature. I don't touch them up or anything. So to me they are like little surprises when I see them on my walks.  They make me laugh. SO of course I have to share.
Enjoy your evening!

Lichen Heart

On my walk on Sunday I found this pretty cool rock.

Not much to share here besides cows and their calves.
I will try to find something new to share tomorrow. (-:
Enjoy your Monday!

Saturday Walk

Took a long walk Saturday morning in the fog.
It was so pretty.
The cows have new calves.  It is so fun to see them.

You can see Jack smelling around there if you look close. He loves to go on long walks.

Also my latest ball with it's new/old base.
