Philodendron Revolution

Since I saw this plant last summer I have wanted one. It was so intriguing to me with it's long aerial roots.

It was in a local shop, but over my budget at 400+ dollars.  Months have gone by and in the mail I received a new Kinsman company catalog. Inside they had the exact planter in the picture for 11.50.  How could I say no?

A bit of searching and I found the Revolution. I had to order it of course.  It came in the mail today.

The planter is back ordered, but should be here in a few weeks. That will be just enough to get the plant use to his new digs. Then I can repot it up.

I can't wait for aerial roots to start growing.

I am glad it is the weekend and I can get outside, but the weekend s always go to fast. I hope you have a great one!

Ever feel like someone is watching you?

It could be a peeping frond.

This one is from my Australian tree fern.😆

Blooms and More Boat Pics

Boat update

My daughter gave me the gazing ball  on the left bottom for my bday.

I added some ranunculus and succulents that my daughter got me.
Also added some little half marbles she gave me that were left over from a school project for the Princess. The Princess loves her gems.😁
I am sure I will add more as time goes on. This is what it looks like today.

Covid Or A Cold

The Princess was over on Sunday and later that night she was feeling sick. Runny nose, sore throat, cough feeling tired.

The next day her brother was feeling it. Then me. Then my daughter and son in law.

Yesterday my daughter got tested for covid. She was negative. So that was a relief. So it is just a cold this time.

But for my son in laws grandpa that is not the case.

He has been in the hospital  almost two weeks with covid.

He was in ICU for a week. He was moved out on Wednesday.

So he has been slowly getting better. He is 84.

I am just glad this is a vacation week at school.

I would not have wanted to go to work.

I hope you are doing well and staying healthy!

Coopers Hawk

Why yes I do plan on eating those little birdies you have been feeding.

You did feed them for me right?

What? You don't want me to eat them?

Ha!

I've been watching and waiting.

Silly human.

The Sun Is Shining

I found this new sun face at the local nursery. You know how much I love Mexican talavera.

I thought it would fit on the boat to add a little color and sunshine.

I think I was right.

Inside the boat

There is a bench seat surrounding the inside of the boat to sit on also.
Getting in and out is a bit of a trick.  No problem for the kids though.
The lights come on at dusk.
They are solar.
They really light up the inside. It is pretty at night.

Oh Stripey

It rained all night. We had almost a 1/2 inch of rain.

This stood out to me this morning.

Funny how nature works.

That is a tall oak tree. The strip goes from the top to the bottom.

Boat Update

I added the plants yesterday and it rained last night. Poured actually.

Went out to see if the boat had floated down the creek, but it was still there. Plants intact.

I added solar lights inside so it would light up at night.

That looks pretty cool too. I had lights inside before, but they were battery powered and I had to keep replacing the batteries all the time. So this year it will be solar powered. I have to clean up the raccoon party inside still, but will get a picture of it soon!

My seagull was broken and to far gone to glue back together so for now there is a crow on top. I am going to get another seagull though.  For now I am happy with how it turned out.

I am sure there will be more adjustments though as time goes along. The plants will need to be replaced in summer, but they should look good until it gets hot here. I planted some ferns on the left side. So the drain holes worked like a charm and that was what I was worried about. No need to worry. It works. Check that off my list of worries.😄

The boat continues to rot away and make it look like it has been shipwrecked there for years. It has been about 7 years since we got the boat. Interesting what weather does to things that are sitting out.

Anyhow, that is it for today. Enjoy your Saturday!

Boat Garden Re-Do

I decided it was time to rip the boat apart and start over. In the past it housed oak barrels filled with water and hibiscus. I got tired of the jungle and decided to go for a more peaceful walk through the boat garden. Even though it's a short walk. 😆 The Princess loves going inside the "cabin", but in the past few years it's been totally over grown and non accessable except to the raccoons. They were using the boat as their party hotspot. Anyhow, after much back breaking work I have a clean slate. I gathered rocks at the creek yesterday to make the short pathway. Holes are drilled for drainage. I need some bags of potting soil and some plants and I will be happy.

The walkway will be filled with pea gravel.

I can't wait to see the planters  filled in and blooming.

Stay tuned for more pictures.

A New Angel

I was at Ross the other day and found this  beautiful angel with a crack in her base.

I asked the clerk if there was a discount for her and he said yes!

I got her for 30% off!

The crack will be repaired and I will glue her to a stepping stone and bury the stepping stone in the ground so she does not fall down. She is heavy, but with the wild life in the garden who knows if she might get knocked down and broken at some point.

It does pay to ask if there is a discount for something damaged.😊

Ross did have several more, but not the same as this one.

Two years ago I also found a nice angel at Ross.

You can read about her HERE

Pitcher Plant

Today the sun was at the perfect angle to get a picture of this pitcher.

We are going to get a few days of spring weather. I am looking forward to that!

One more work week and then a week off for me!  It is also my 39th  wedding anniversary next Saturday!

Valentine's Day is next Sunday. Do you have any plans to celebrate?

He has been ready since Christmas! 😄

More House Plants

 It's cold and dreary outside.

But, inside it is warm and bright.

The house plants are all doing well.

I thought I would share a couple with you.

Never Never plant

I hope your Monday goes well!
