Snow!

 It is rare, but it does happen every once in a while here. I don't really like it because it is a mess, but it is pretty to see. 

I have seen it and now it can vanish. 🤣

Anniversary Gift

My husband who I have known for 45 years , obviously  knows me. We have been married for 44 years.  I have been looking for an vintage butter board online. They are very rare. I have a bread board that was my Mom's and have never heard of a butter board. Of course when I saw one I really wanted one. They seem to mostly come from England. Finding one is almost impossible and when you do they are pricey.  I found one online and it sold before I could decide if it was the one I wanted.  I eventually found another one that I ordered, but in the mean time my husband decided to try making one for fun. It turned out beautiful.  I hung it up and will be able to enjoy it every day. 

I am still waiting for my butter board to arrive from England. This is a picture of it.

 

 I love old wood and vintage things. I am not crazy about the blue dish inside and will replace it with something different. 

I enjoy having things that belonged to someone from another time.

I hope you are having a great weekend. I am enjoying being off work. I am working outside trying to get ready for spring.

Creek Adventure

 On Sunday the Princess and I went to the creek to look for treasures. We love going down to the creek.  She found a rock for me. 

 

 

And I found one for her.

So unusual.  It may be Jasper.  That is what the rock group I belong to thinks. I thought petrified wood. It was so shiny.  Natural shine not wet. Very smooth.   We had a great time and it was really nice hanging out with Klara. 

Now, they all have the flu at her house. Ugh, it is going around. About 40 kids a day have been out at my school with the flu. I had a flu shot this year. Hopefully we don't get it. 🙏

Tomorrow is Friday and then we are off for a week. I can hardly wait. It seems like it was just Christmas vacation.  Time seems to fly by.  Soon school will be out for summer. 😁

Amazing how fast those years went by. 

My sister in law is getting ready to go home next week if all goes as planned.  So everyone is happy about that!

Everything else seems to be going good here.

What To Do When African Violet Breaks off

 I had an oppss while watering my beloved Africa Violet a couple weeks ago..

Usually I pop break offs  in a glass of water, but I had an idea.  I save these condiment cups when we get take out from our favorite Mexican restaurant.  I never know when I might need one for something. They also work well for medications for the day. Just pop on lid and it won't accidentally spill out.  Safe for adults, but not children, obviously.  Anyhow,  I poked a hole in the lid and pushed the African Violet piece through. In just a couple of weeks I have roots! I am very happy that I tried this idea. Plus no spilling water and water barely evaporated. 

So give it a try if you are into propping your house plants. I have not tried any other house plants yet, but I am going to.
