Happy Halloween

Is everyone ready for the big day?
Trick or Treating...
On Santa's sleigh?
Oh never mind,
That's another day.

Do you sneak candy,
From your kids?
Quietly,
 Claiming dibs?

Unwrap slowly so as not to wake.
Sleeping teens,
Or
That tiny earthquake?

Smiling big,
As you reminisce.
The festive costumes.
That silly clown wig.

Pointy shoes or
Shoes unseen.
Happy visitors
Looking keen.

The night sped by.
It's in the rear view mirror.
Memories were made.
Tomorrow is clear.

Pack up the season,
Put it away.
Soon Santa will be here,
On his sleigh.

The Harvest Festival Pictures

Plus a couple more.
Yes she did get cotton candy.
She said she had never had any before. I think she forgot that she did.πŸ˜‚
 Face Painting
 Scary Dino
 Hanging out with the creatures
 On the quad
We had a great time at the festival.
Hopefully can go again next year!

I have another day off from school as the California Black Out continues.
I have power at home so that is good. I have managed to get a lot of chores done. I hope to get more done tomorrow. I really am enjoying this break.😊
I know a lot of people are not enjoying it due to no power. I feel bad for those folks. I know how that is too. And the fires! Yikes I really can relate to those. It seems like yesterday we had our own crisis here. I know how stressful that is believe me. I hope they can get those fires under control soon.
We really need rain.
Hopefully that happens soon too.
Thoughts and prayers to all who are involved in this.

And This Happened!

At school yesterday a girl pulled out my granddaughters other top front tooth.
Just like that. It happened in class. Teacher was present.
I am really having a difficult time understanding how this could happen.
Like maybe this kid wants to be a dentist when she grows up?
Or wanted my granddaughter to get the tooth fairy money?

T.G.I.F.

The day has arrived.
Tonight is the harvest festival where the princess goes to school.
We get to take her.
So excited to go and I know she is too.
She is dressing up as a dinosaur. She loves dinosaurs and unicorns. Great combo right?
We got t shirts to wear.

She is going to crack up.
I also got her a unicorn riding a dinosaur t shirt in pink she can wear later.
Can't wait to see her and start our evening.
First though, I have to feed a bunch of hungry kids lunch.
The school I work at also has a harvest festival tonight. In fact I think they all do around here.
The kids all get to dress up and have a great time.
Oh and she lost another tooth.
Now she looks like a Jack-O-Lantern.😁
The tooth fairy is going to go broke.😁

Hope you have a great Friday as well!

The Dress Arrived

I love Bonnie Jean dresses and have bought several over the years for the Princess.
They make super nice outfits. They are the best quality and full of personality.
This dress is no exception. I love it so much. I can't wait for the Princess to see it.
It is even better in person.
And no I did not get paid to say that.

I can't believe the holidays are around the corner.
I know we have to get through the Halloween festivities first!
This week is the Halloween festival at most of the local schools.
It will be a wild week next week with all the candy being consumed.

Visit To See Reptiles

We took the Princess to see the reptiles and she loved them. I was shocked at how big they were.
They had a bunch of different kinds. Snakes, lizards, frogs and tortoises.
I think she had the most fun with the tortoise. She got to feed them. They eat a lot! It was a crack up.

This was Buster. She got a kick out of him too.
All the reptiles are friendly and they even do reptile parties for kids.

Buster is a monitor lizard. He is two years old!

A little Scarecrow

I saw this little scarecrow online and thought I would try to make him.
Well the video was so fast it was hard to get instructions. I added my own touch on some of it.
I would remove the mums to water and then put them back when they are done dripping.
I don't think it would do well if it got wet.
Anyhow, that is the one and only fall project I have done so far. πŸ˜πŸ‘»πŸ’€πŸ‘€
I think it will be time to work on Christmas stuff next.
This project was fairly easy, but no where near as easy as the video on line shows.
It took me about four hours.
If you want to watch the video you can see it Here
I am done for the day and ready to catch some Zzzzz's

A New Halloween Witch

I saw a witch like her at a local fall festival and ordered one.
I just picked her up today.
She fits in well with the fall dΓ©cor.
Although, since she goes with my everyday décor I will leave her up all year around.😁
I just love the crow hat.
Such a character.
She needs a name.
That will give me something to think about for the next few days.

Halloween Pictures

I know last year I thought it was the last for taking seasonal pictures with the Princess.
I went ahead and got outfits for both kids and hoped for the best.
My grandson is sick so didn't make it to the photo shoot.
Here was the shirt I got him.
I also got black pants for him to wear.
My daughter will take pictures at a later time.

The Princess showed up though.(-:
We had a great weekend with soccer and then a sleep over night.

She is always silly. Quite the camera ham.
Although she has had an ear infection too.
We still took her to the Spirit store and out to lunch.
She had a great time.
We found the skeleton to come home with us. So of course he was going to be in the pictures.
I hate when she has to go home even though I am tired.
I just miss her so much when she is not here.
I look forward to the weekends.
Hopefully she will be back next week after her soccer game.
I think it is a Friday night game this time.
I told her if she was to tired to come over Friday then she could come on Saturday.
Hopefully it works out.
I can't believe how fast the weeks are going though.
Well I am back to work tomorrow after the three days off due to the power outage.
Have a great week!

A Shocking Discovery

So with the PG&E power shut off I have been off work for three days.
I am not complaining at all.
I have had a great week.
I got to visit the Princess at her school for lunch.
Met her friends and had a blast.
I was able to get my Halloween decorations up.
Caught up on a couple T.V. movies I missed.
And yesterday was able to go out to lunch with my husband.
What happened afterwards though was something I won't soon forget.
As we were driving home we decided to take a drive by my Mom's old house.
You may remember we sold it two years ago in June.
Well since then the new owners have not done much with it.
A little work here and there, but no one has lived there.
We have wondered what was going on.
The new owners also live right behind my Mom's old house.
We heard that they wanted to have the property line adjusted.
We did not think that was ever going to happen in that neighborhood and it didn't.
So as we were driving along I saw some orange fencing. The kind they put up when there is construction. As we got closer I could not see the house because it was gone.
Just a pile of rubble.
I was very shocked at that moment and I had to pull over to the side of the road.
I took a picture.
I still don't know why they would demolish a nice home, that yes, needed a make over, but was a nice home other then that. I still can not get over the shock.
Why would they buy the home then two years later take it down?
Don't they watch HGTV?
There were a lot of memories in that house. Good and bad. But my childhood was spent riding horses with the neighborhood girls and making lots of great memories.
Everyone had a horse back then. We all hung out and rode everyday.
I know all those memories will still be with me, but I won't ever be able to drive by the house again.
I guess that part is what makes me sad.
Not only are my parents gone now, but so is the house I grew up in.

Hey that could be a country music song.😁

Anyhow that was my story for today. I am still recovering from it.

Shopping Finds

Last Saturday I dropped by a craft/vintage market and found this really super cute table. Then on Tuesday I went to my favorite antique shop and got these cool chairs.

I think they work perfect in the fountain garden.

It is a mess right now because of that F word...
fall...
all the leaves are falling everywhere.

The wind is blowing.
The flowers are fading.
Everything is messy.

Yup that about sums up the weather here.

I am hoping for another day off.

I know everyone without power is having a terrible day and believe me I know how those days are.
I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
I hope the power gets on soon for everyone else, but for me I am having a great time.
Yesterday I also went to visit the Princess at her school for lunch. Their power was on.
That was a total blast. I got to meet her friends and listen to their stories and boy did they have some doozies. I am still laughing!
I also met her teacher, although I met her at a soccer game a couple of weeks ago.  She is very nice. I don't know how she does it with a class full of 5-6 year olds! They all have so much energy! I love kids and it was a wonderful time getting to experience being a Grandparent at my Granddaughters school! I hope I can go again someday soon.

If You Live In California...

You might have a power outage.
Which means no school.
Which means I get to stay home today.
Which means...
I am happy!!!!!
