So with the PG&E power shut off I have been off work for three days.
I am not complaining at all.
I have had a great week.
I got to visit the Princess at her school for lunch.
Met her friends and had a blast.
I was able to get my Halloween decorations up.
Caught up on a couple T.V. movies I missed.
And yesterday was able to go out to lunch with my husband.
What happened afterwards though was something I won't soon forget.
As we were driving home we decided to take a drive by my Mom's old house.
You may remember we sold it two years ago in June.
Well since then the new owners have not done much with it.
A little work here and there, but no one has lived there.
We have wondered what was going on.
The new owners also live right behind my Mom's old house.
We heard that they wanted to have the property line adjusted.
We did not think that was ever going to happen in that neighborhood and it didn't.
So as we were driving along I saw some orange fencing. The kind they put up when there is construction. As we got closer I could not see the house because it was gone.
Just a pile of rubble.
I was very shocked at that moment and I had to pull over to the side of the road.
I took a picture.
I still don't know why they would demolish a nice home, that yes, needed a make over, but was a nice home other then that. I still can not get over the shock.
Why would they buy the home then two years later take it down?
Don't they watch HGTV?
There were a lot of memories in that house. Good and bad. But my childhood was spent riding horses with the neighborhood girls and making lots of great memories.
Everyone had a horse back then. We all hung out and rode everyday.
I know all those memories will still be with me, but I won't ever be able to drive by the house again.
I guess that part is what makes me sad.
Not only are my parents gone now, but so is the house I grew up in.
Hey that could be a country music song.π
Anyhow that was my story for today. I am still recovering from it.
