Whats New?

Nothing much happening here.

Weather is nice one day then hot the next. Next week another blast of heat coming.

The flowers have been doing well considering.

I made more patty pan squash pizza.

I am experimenting to see what I like best.
Definitely the smaller ones are best. This time after it baked for 10 minutes I turned on broiler to brown the top. That was better then last time.

I made a forth of July garland to hang up on my my mom's antique mirror in the entry hall.

So I cheated and used a Michael's garland. I tied the fabric strips because they were just sewn on the jute.

Tying makes it fuller.
I added the stars that I painted white. And I also bought a firecracker garland at michaels. I cut off the firecrackers and tied on the garland to make it more festive!  I also made tags to hang on the garland. I could not find 4th of July rubber stamps anywhere.  I had two, but I know I had more somewhere. Anyhow, I found some cute stickers at hobby lobby and stuck those on the tags.  I also ordered another set of pre made tags on Amazon which will be here tomorrow.
I enjoying making things.  Now I need another project to keep me busy while it is hot next week.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Happy First Day of Summer!

School is out and I am finally enjoying the time off from work! The whole family had a stomach virus the first week. Flu or whatever it was. Glad that is done.

The weather has been so nice the last few days. Unusually cool.  We had the invasion of the grasshoppers, which was not fun, but that seems better this week.

The veggie garden is producing a ton of veggies.

I made some patty pan pizza.

It was really good actually!

Sliced the patty pan in round pieces. Baked at 350 ten minutes then added the pizza stuff.

Put back in oven for 10 more minutes and it was ready to eat.

Patty Pan squash does not produce water like zucchini does.

So anything you add won't be swimming.  It was basically dry after baking.

Very nice.  I am looking forward to having again.

We have a lot of patty pan and zucchini squash.

I love zucchini noodles. They are better then pasta I think!

There again, they produce a lot of water so you have to semi dry them off before adding sauce, but they are yummy and not as filling as pasta.  Plus you can eat as much as you want, they have very few calories.

Anyhow. that is about all that is happening here. How are you doing?

I hope you are enjoying the summer days!
