End of May

It has been hot this week. We are going to have some cooler weather starting today.
Things are growing like crazy. In fact this monarda must go.
I don't like it anymore. It is almost 6 feet tall. It blocks the whole willow tree garden.
When it is done blooming its outta there.
I didn't know it would get that tall.
Ughhhh. Oh well.

Other things are doing well.

I replanted this head planter.
The hosta was getting to big. This grassy (forgot the name) plant seems to like it in here so it will stay.

The sink fountain always looks nice.
I know I could clean it right? I think it looks nice all mossy and natural.
If it was inside the house I would have to clean it.
Out in the garden it can look like it has been there forever.😁
It has been there for a long time.

And the waterbed pond has grown like crazy too.
I never get tired of it.

And last but not least.
The Princess is a Kindergarten Grad.
It is funny how they graduate from Kindergarten.
Congratulations to my Princess!
Since there is no school etc. Grad was at home via Zoom.
Something for the history books.
Hopefully next year will be a normal year.
I have three more work days then out for summer!
Yahooooooooooooooooooooo

This was my daughter when she graduated from Kindergarten.
It seems like yesterday.

The Begining

We built our house in 1990.
Nothing but red dirt and a few scrappy trees.
A lot changed over the years including the color of the house.😁

Memorial Day 2020

It's another day in Paradise.

The Veggie Garden 2020 Update:

Cucumbers are starting to grow up the trellis.
A volunteer crook neck squash will be our first veggie from the garden.
Surprises are always nice right?
I hope you enjoyed your day.

Owl Update

We think our little owlet has flown off the tree.
I looked everywhere today but I don't see him.
He could be there though because he is hard to see way up in the tree.
He does have feathers and a tail so he could have flown.
His Mom was trying to coax him off to the next adventure.
We have observed when there is only one owlet they seem a lot slower to leave the tree and move on.
When there are more then one they are gone a lot sooner.

Update: Owlet is still there. He was just hiding.
You can see how his colors blend in to the tree. It is hard at times to spot him sitting up there.

Also the other night a masked visitor practicing social distancing stopped by for a treat.

And that is it for today.
Hope you have a nice weekend!

New Vintage Tea Set

I was so excited to find this online.
I only wish I had it 30 years ago when my kids were little.
They loved tea parties.
This set would have been a favorite for sure.
My son loved airplanes. He still does.
I plan to have a tea party with the Princess soon!
It would look so cute with an airplane table cloth.
I will have to look for something like that.
Oh but the best part?
The price.
15 dollars for all.😀

Swimming Through May

We have been hammered with rain the last few days. It is a welcome site. We need rain and lots of it.
These two fish arrived in the mail last week before the rain.
I think they like hanging out in their new home.

Also I am back at school finishing off the year. Just seven more work days.
It is a weird feeling to be there, but I guess it will all work out.

Gate Greeter

Or maybe just working on a tan.
Either way he seems happy.
Hope you are doing well.

Airplane For Crash Site Memorial

I was able to go to my favorite antique store the other day and I found this cool airplane.
My husband will weld it to the top of the flag pole that we will put at the crash site. We have looked and looked for an airplane to mount on top of the flag pole and we finally found it.  So happy to finally get this project started.
Hopefully by November there will be mums mums in the planter below the flag.

More Lights

I added lights around the window frame.

It's been raining all day. It is so needed.
We are supposed to get rain again tomorrow and then Saturday through Tuesday.
It has put a hold on finishing my project because it is so muddy.
You can get a small glimse in the first photo.
I have to wait until the ground dries some to put down remaining gravel. I
put a table and chairs there
to see what it would look like. I
decided a seating area on the other side of the hedge would be nice and I already had the table and chairs in the storage shed.
I explained to my husband it would give me another place to display things.

He just gave me that look.
Things?😳
Yeah...things...to be decided at a later date. Possibly things not aquired yet. 😂

Sheltering in place has given me time to come up with more ideas.

Another thing I have been doing is collecting house plants.
I have always had a few, but having a few more is nice.
They are calming to look at and cheerful too.
I found a lemon lime prayer plant, a peperomia and a crinkle charlie.
That's it for now unless I spot something that looks interesting. 😍

Happy Mothers Day

The wood ducks jumped out yesterday morning and took off towards the pond.
Good Luck little ducks on your journey!
Come back soon!
