Head Vase Planter Picture Frames

Or I could call them living frames.

Or, live pictures.

Whatever they are, they do really well for the most part.

They are fun to look at.

 

                                                 The first one has grown outside the frame.

The second one I had to add more plants to because a lot of the plants had fallen out. 

I think I have them in there better this time. 

Time will tell.

Three days till vacation!

I can hardly wait. It is so hard to leave the garden behind and go to work.

I just want to stay outside all day and work.

New Bird House

 I found this at Pier 1. I thought it was perfect for my patio.

I don't plan on using as a birdhouse. I think it will look great as a table decoration

I do have a million birds though so who knows one may just decide to move in.

The wood duck is back in the wood duck house sitting on 12 eggs. She has been back three years in a row now.

The solar pumps are working and I will take a picture of those tomorrow(-:

Harry

 Harry is still hanging in there. 

He must be a reincarnated cat.😹

He is a survivor that's for sure. With a strong will to live.

The goldfish are doing fine too.

I am busy cleaning up the garden of left over fallen leaves, sticks etc.

I am getting there. I still have a few more areas to clean up. Hopefully will be done soon.

It is looking a lot more like spring here.😁

Fish Wars

So today while I was cleaning the filter on the aquarium, one of the goldfish tried to eat Harry. I had to rescue Harry from the mouth of the goldfish. It was not an easy task.

 Harry is still alive.

 He is traumatized though. 

I moved the goldfish into a temporary home for the time being. They have outgrown the aquarium and are just being bullies to the other fish. They will go outside into the bathtub pond when the weather warms up a bit. Until then they will be in a five gallon bucket.😊 

Joanie and Polly are so happy and they are out and about in the aquarium. They have been hiding most of the time because of the goldfish. So for now everyone is happy.

Poor Harry has had a hard time. I hope he makes it through this ordeal.

 

Happy First Day Of Spring

Mrs. Petunia Rabbit

 If you've followed along you will remember Mrs. Rabbit's B and B.

Well Mrs. Rabbit never had a first name until I found a bunny to fill the part.

A month ago I was shopping online and found a rabbit that would be a perfect Mrs. R.

Only problem was, when she arrived she had a crack on her ear and head.

I wrote to the company and told them about the poor Mrs. R and they said they would refund my money and I could keep her.

So Mrs. Rabbit had to go through a make over.

I spackled the crack and painted her white. I also added some fake eyelashes I found online at Sally.

Speaking of fake eyelashes does anyone really stick those things on themselves? They are sticky! I wondered if it would pull off your skin. Lucky thing I bought three packs of eye lashes because one got stuck and I couldn't get it off without tearing it. But, that's o.k. because I had a back up pair.

Anyhow, I stuck the eyelashes on and I knew Mrs. Rabbit would be perfect for the B And B.

Meet Mrs. Petunia Rabbit...

My husband made the shelf for Petunia to sit on.

This is also where the egg hunt is held each year. So I am ahead of the game this year.

I have everything ready to go.

Well almost. I need the eggs decorated by my favorite 7 year old.

She is going to love Mrs. Petunia Rabbit. 

She hasn't seen her yet!

You can never have to much fun stuff in the garden right?

Some day my Princess will be all grown up and on her own. 

She will probably look back and remember all the crazy things I did in my garden and have a good laugh. 

And I will be there in spirit, laughing right along with her.

Do You Like Butter?

 Well who doesn't? I mean how could you go shopping and see this butter and not grab it up?

Incidentally the Princess calls us the Buttertons.

She came up with that name all on her own.😁

We all like butter, maybe some more then others.

Anyhow, I got two of the bunny butter creations for the Easter dinner.

I am sure the Princess is going to crack up laughing.

I love when she laughs. She has one of those laughs that gets the whole room laughing.

She is a true blessing. We are so lucky to have her.💖

Rain!

 It has been raining since yesterday evening.

Almost an inch. We really need the rain and it is nice to see it falling.

The gutters are running. I woke up to that sound.

Speaking of waking up. Ugh the time change!

I didn't sleep well thinking about getting up early.

It is dark outside, raining and 39 degrees.

I am sure it is snowing in the mountains.

Spring is in five days!

Easter is just a three weeks away.

I am getting things cleaned up and ready for an egg hunt for the kids.

I told the Princess yesterday she will have to come over and decorate eggs. She is looking forward to that. Last year we didn't have an Easter party. It was a very depressing time. I am looking forward to enjoying it this year. I will also be off work for a week. 😊

Just three more weeks I think I can do that!

Whats New

 A week has flown by. What have I been doing you ask?

Well, we had a taco dinner on the weekend and the kids came over.

I made blue tacos.

I have a taco press/cooker I use that my family has used all my life. My cousin invented them. 

I thought I had a post on here about the taco press, but I can't find it.

Anyhow, it is pretty fun to use and you just buy masa harina flour to make the taco shells out of.

I fry the shells after they are cooked, but you can eat them without frying also.

They make yellow corn and also blue corn.

I used the yellow for years and recently tried the blue. We all like the blue better.

I will have to make another post on the taco press next time I make tacos.

Anyhow...

I used my plates.

I thought I posted about them when I got them too, but it is not coming up on here either.

Hmmm. Oh well. It was a long story. I found the plates on eBay and ordered them.

It took many back and forths with the seller. Several arrived broken. Then more had to be sent. They were broken. I honestly never thought I would get them. I finally did and I love them.

When not in use they hang on the wall outside.

Weird place I know, but no where to store them safely so that was the only option.

They look nice on the wall and also add that bright cheerfulness I love.

When I need them I just pull them off the wall and wash them and they are ready to go.

Maria and Jose joined in the fun too.

I'm sure they will get used a lot when we have a Mexican dinner.

We had a great time, ate to much and had a lot of laughs.

I am looking forward to doing it again soon!

Also last week my daughter found the cutest set of planters.

She was at the store and saw them and sent me a picture.

She asked if I was interested.

Um, well, yeah!

How much?

She said 17 dollars for the set of three.

I said that is perfect I will pay you back!

I knew the perfect spot for them!

Black Jewel Orchid Blooms

Happy first day of March! 

I got this jewel orchid around Christmas and it was not blooming although I could see wee little buds coming up. Anyhow, now it is in full bloom and looking beautiful.

I am enjoying it.
