Fountain Repair and Halloween Craft

Happy Friday!

Hope you had a great week!

This week I finally got my fountain repaired.  A few years ago it was being worked on and fell off a table.The bottom broke off the fountain. It was a pile of rubble.  I got the fountain for my first Mothers Day 39 years ago when I was pregnant. I really didn't want to scrap it.  So my husband glued the pieces back together and cemented it.  It is good and sturdy.  I was in charge of painting it. I think it turned out perfect!

I wish I had painted it to match the bench, but I can repaint it next year if I want to.

For now it is working and looks great.

Also this week I decided to get a head start on some Halloween decorations.

These are made out of walnuts.

I just carved their faces and they will dry up to look creepy.

I have seen these made with other nuts and they are very cool. I just hope mine turn out as cool!

I will keep you updated.

I know Halloween is a ways off, but I won't have time once school starts.

We all know how fast that first couple of months flies by!

Anyhow, summer is flying by already and it is just about 3 weeks till school starts.

It has been an fun summer.

I have been to the water park a few times with the grandkids.  That is an adventure!

I might be to old to go on the raging river ride, but I went anyhow!

It sure was fun.

Glass Terrerium Finished

 I am finished putting together the terrerium. I thought I would just add and air plant, but it did not look right.

So I added a bunch of sea shells and an air plant with a battery timed candle.

I like it except I really want to get a small starfish. So for now it is done.

It was fun to put together and I think it looks nice hanging.

It has just started to bloom. I will take a follow up picture in a few days.

A Mermaids Tail

  I saw this rock Saturday while collecting rocks for the new pathway and thought how much it looked like a mermaids tail.  So of course it had to come home with me to put in the garden.

I love finding special rocks.

Well you might have to use your imagination. 😆

Sunday Blooms

It was smoking hot today.  112 degrees. Needless to say I didn't do much outside.

The flowers that are blooming apparently don't mind the heat.

And of course a rock, because I love rocks. Especially ones with Lichen.

This was a small one I picked up yesterday while collecting rocks for my pathway.

I thought it was very pretty.

New Pathway

The new pathway is finished.  It turned out very nice and it will be so much easier getting the hedge pruned.

We decided to use the mini bark instead of gravel. Just so it would be a different pathway.

It joins the little beach area.

I picked up rocks this morning to finish off the area.

I like is so much better. Now if the racoons will stay out of there we will be happy!

Also the beautiful Casablanca lilies opened.

There was a visitor to one bloom!

They smell so good.

I look forward to them blooming all year.

They really are a highlight of the garden.

Every year I think I will buy more bulbs. I need to make a note to myself to do that this year.

It was 112 degrees here today. So outside work is limited to the morning.

The rest of day I was inside!

Sunday

Today was bread day.

 It was not to hot today, but later this week it is heating up again.

I have been watching the Witches of East End.  Kinda creepy, but interesting too.

I always have enjoyed witch stories. 

When I was a kid it was Dark Shadows. My brother and I would race home from school to watch it.

Not sure why my Mom let us watch that show, but she did.

Ever since I have enjoyed witches, magic and spirits.

Not saying they don't creep me out, but they are entertaining.

My Mom was Catholic, but had a sister who did Tarot Cards. She was very good.

My Mom always said she was psychic and had the ability to see the future.

My Mom valued her advice and insight. 

Anyhow, on the show I've been watching, they had a beautiful hanging glass terrarium.

I wondered where I could get one like it. 

Well Amazon had them.

So I ordered it. It came yesterday. It is big and beautiful. Much better then I thought it would be.

I love Amazon for that reason. I have found so many things I would never find here in stores. Plus I don't

 have to drive around town looking for things. So fun! I ordered an air plant to go inside of it too.

I can't wait to get that and put it all together.

Guess that is all that is happening around here.

The Garden Cat

 You remember Gandalf.

He was a stray that wandered in and stayed. So I guess he is no longer a stray. He is our cat and he has a forever home with us.

The Princess took his photo today.

He was enjoying the morning lounging on the boat.

A couple more cooler days and then it will be back to 100+ degree days.

Happy 4th of July

 I hope you are staying cool. It has been a wild week here with temperatures reaching 112 degrees.

I put up umbrellas to protect the flowers from frying. It worked!

Everything is stressed, but is o.k.

Next week it will be in the 90's so that will be o.k.
