Some Tomatoes

The veggie garden is producing a lot this year.

It has been a good year for the garden.

I am taking this bunch of tomatoes to school tomorrow.

There is also basil, sage, oregano, rosemary and a few peppers.

We have a lot of peppers and cucumbers and squash.

The pumpkins are amazing.

I can't wait to decorate for fall.

We had a lot of cantalopes too.

The after Halloween pumpkin drop from the bridge is going to be great this year too!

I can't wait!

We will have to take a few videos.

The kids love it!

Well that is all for now.

Hope you are doing well!

A Pretty Safeway Rose

I bought this as a tiny little four inch potted rose last fall. It has grown to three feet tall on my patio.

I had two of these shark bowls.
They didn't really work as bowls, so I drilled holes in them and used as planters.

I like them hanging up better. So fun to see every day. My other two fish planters are hanging above .

I love the beach and the ocean.  I guess that's why I love having the fountains running.
It is so peaceful.

I can really feel a difference in the weather.
It feels like fall may be coming.
Let's hope it is. A rain would be nice too.

Last but not least I am sharing my monkey tail cactus.  I can't remember if I shared this before.  It was a little guy. It has grown at least 12 inches since last year. It doesn't have the fur yet, but hopefully next year it will.
They say it takes five years to get big. So one year down, four to go.😁
I had to shop around for a while to get a good price for it. Some people were selling a piece not rooted for 40 dollars. So it does pay to shop around. I got mine for 20 dollars rooted in a pot.
I take it in during winter so it won't freeze.
It goes in the plant shed not the house. It did fine last winter.
I always enjoy trying to grow different plants.  Some work out and others don't.😆

Anyhow, that's it for today. I hope your Monday went well.

One Week Done

The first week of school went smoothly although I was beat.

Came home Friday and crashed in the recliner.

Not sure why the first week does that, but every year is the same.

Anyhow, the Princess came for a visit yesterday.

I made pizza rolls and cheesy rolls.

I started my sourdough and baked it today.

Husband killed a rattlesnake in the barn.

We had a tea party, but no pictures.

We had a great day. I was worn out again, but stayed up to watch the new Hallmark movie.

Later my daughter sent these pictures of the Princess and her brother when she got home.

Her and her brother were playing with the bubble machine and water baloons.

A fun end to the week.

Now to prepare for week number 2.

How many more are there? (-:

Hope you have a great week!

Flowers

 A few things are blooming.

First this beautiful lotus.

It is actually cream colored not yellow.

The picture shows it yellowish.

And last but not least is the pineapple lily.

It turned out pretty good again this year.

That's it for me.

Busy week with school etc.

Hope all is well with you!

First Day

It was actually my second day, but first for the Princess.

She was over the moon excited to go to school.  She loves her teacher and all her friends.

I love her so much!

So Hot

 And So smoky.

It was unreal today. I took Baylee out for potty breaks and stayed inside the rest of the day.

This was the reason why...

My asthma was on edge just looking at that report!

I hope you are safe wherever you are.

Hoping this week we can get a break from the smoke.

I head back to work tomorrow.

It is a difficult thing to adjust to.

Leaving Baylee even though my husband is home.

Also going back to work at school knowing the covid problem is getting worse.

I hope everyone stays healthy and safe and we don't see any cases at school.

Take Care!

Flamingo Fun

I saw this absolutely darling table and chair set. I didn't get it...yet...😁 I love it though.

It's funny how you buy something and then you have things pop up saying ..look at me!

I love how cute this set is though.

Oh well, I already got the fish bench right?🤔

Hope your day is going well!

Some Photos With Baylee

I am working on teaching him the word stay.

It takes a lot of treats.

I think he is getting it!

Yay Baylee!

Just two more days of summer vacation!

The time went to fast.

I also want to say how much I love the bench. It is so nice. Nicer then I thought it would be.

It is not wobbly. Very well made. It was a snap to put together too! Just six bolts and it was ready to take out to the garden.

I got this one on Zulily, but I  have seen them on other sites as well.

Zulily had the best price.

The Princess was over for a quick visit yesterday and really liked it as well.

It was not set up yet or I would have got a picture of her too.

Hopefully next week!

Well I better get the rest of my chores done. Time is wasting away.

I hope you are having a great weekend!

New Beach Garden

It is almost 9:30 PM and I am done moving things around.

 But, there is always tomorrow!

It is good enough for tonight.(-:

The fountain is so cool. I really like it. It works great except it didn't have a way to turn down the flow.

So my husband went to the hardward store to get a fitting. So tomorrow we will get that fixed.

I had all the other beach stuff. I have a lot of beach stuff it seems. I can move it around from one spot to another.

Anyhow, hope your day was good.

TTFN!

Tick Tock

 Time is marching by.

One week from now will be the first day of school.

It is still smoky here and limits time outside.

I still have to go out with Baylee numerous times, but I am being careful not to be out to much.

It is suppose to get hot.

It was 104 today. Hotter then that.

Ugh.

Anyhow, that is how summer usually ends here. Hot days.

I am still waiting for the new bench, but it is suppose to be here tomorrow.

I can't wait. Then it will have to be put together.

In the mean time I got a new fountain.

LOL I know. I have so many. But hey what's one more?

I will give you a peek at it. This is a picture from marketplace ad.

It is used.

The lady did not know if the pump worked so she used as a planter.
The pump works great. It is cleaned and ready to work as soon as it is in it's forever place.
It weights about 200 pounds. I don't think it will be moving once it is placed.
So that is all that is happening here.
I hope you are doing well.

Another Smoky Day

The fires in Northern California are so terrible. It is heartbreaking how it has devastated so much.

So many without a home to return to.

And really no end in sight.

I am grateful for my garden. I enjoy it everyday.

The new beach area is done. I am just waiting for the bench to arrive.

I added the tarp down first.
Then my husband went and got the sand.
There was plenty to refresh the boat area as well.

So far though it looks really nice.

The smoke has made the pictures look wonky.
It is weird outside. Kinda like a cloudy day, but not.
Anyhow, this is the area minus the bench.
I am sure it will go through more tweeking to get it the way I want.
At least I have something to keep me busy during this terrible time.

Baylee is doing well. Trying to just go outside to potty and then back in when it is smoky out.
This morning he was able to play for a bit in his dog park.
He dug a hole, then he sat in it. He is such a character!

I am keeping everyone in the fire areas in my thoughts and prayers.

New Gardening Angel

I thought this was perfect for my garden.

I bought three Incase one gets broken.
The raccoons and squirrels like to destroy the garden so it's always a possibility.
Anyhow I paid
3.99. it's ceramic. It was a  closeout.

New Bench... New Area To Sit

I have an area in my backyard that I haven't liked for a long time. All that grows in the area in summer is the crocsemia. There is also mondo grass in the back which I will keep.

I like the crocsomia if they are standing up. I guess I could support them somehow, but I have a jungle of them so I ripped the area out and will level and lay the weed cloth down and add gravel there.

I have to add the rocks around it too.
A lot to do on a cooler day. At least I made a start right?

New bench is one I have admired for a while.

I think it will go well with my ocean/fish/water theme in the backyard.
I have a lot of canna lilies I will move there to fill in. Plus whatever else looks good that I want to move. It does get full sun in the afternoon. There is a huge crepe myrtle that hangs over the area.
So that is what I am doing this week.
Hope you are enjoying your week too!

Happy August

It is already August and we all know what means.

Back to school time!

I am not looking forward to it, although with the covid vaccine maybe it won't be so bad.

I am looking forward to the temperature being under 100.

It has been over 100 for most of the summer.

It is just to hot to do much outside unless you are in the water.

Basically, I have just been walking Baylee and staying inside. Between the heat and the smoke from the fires I am done with summer 2021.

I wrote a little summer poem.

Summertime.

Hot,

Smoky,

Sweaty,

Itchy,

Scratchy,

Wacky,

Weather.

Fall.

Please,

Hurry.

Baylee is doing well.
He likes to hang out under the coffee table.
I think he is tired of the heat too.
He is looking forward to trips to the creek when there is water again.

There are still flowers blooming in the garden.
The marigolds are doing well this summer. I am going to get a picture of them to show you.
In the mean time here is a pretty pink lotus is blooming.

That is all for today.

I hope you have a wonderful Monday!
