2018 Veggie Garden Is In

A new garden was built. We had our last veggie garden for years and years in the same spot. It was time to move it to a new area with full sun. Over the years the trees had grown so much it was blocking a lot of sunshine which the veggies need a lot of. This new area is in full death star view.
.
We planted so many veggies. Enough to feed several families.
Which is good. We love to share. All our friends and family will not go hungry.
Also we planted pumpkins for the Princess. Hopefully a giant one will grow that needs to be lifted up with the backhoe!

This project took several weeks to plan and get done.

So much work!

Now...

Let the growing begin!

Six Semps On Saturday

I planted all the little potted sempervivums in the garden. Can't wait to see how well they do.
They were small so it will be fun to watch them grow.

Tree Trimming And Clean Up

We had a very large pine tree trimmed of it's dead limbs and a couple of limbs that hung over the chicken pen. It was pretty fun to watch those dead branches fall to the ground. The live ones were lifted up, over and around the house. So nice to see it all trimmed and cleaned up.

Memorial Stone

In a little over a month it will be 5 years since my Dad passed away. I can't believe it has been that long. It seems like yesterday he was here and we were talking about the weather and garden etc. He is on my mind all through the day. I miss him so much.
When he passed away I received a memorial tile with his name and dates on it. Well that tile faded away from the years in the sun. So I ordered a new memorial rock to put in the butterfly garden with my Mom's. You may remember the rock I ordered for her. You can see that one here Mom's Rock
These rocks should last forever. Long after I'm gone.
This rock is huge. I bet our mail lady was trying to figure out what was in the box. (-:
This rock I ordered from  Real Stone Carving because the one that made the last two was not etsy this time.

Fishin' For Compliments

I found this little fish rock at the creek

Waterbed Pond

The backside of the fish pond

I also re strung this little hanging seahorse thing. I bought this 20 years ago in Trinidad, CA.
It did not have beads, so I added them when I re strung it. I think it looks better with a little bling! Not bad for over 20 years old. The seahorses are a little worn out, but I think the beads will give it another 20 years or so.(-:

Last but not least Fil would like to wish you a very relaxing Sunday.

Blooming Head

I am so happy the ice plant is blooming! I have her sitting on the bbq on the patio in full hot sun.
I think she needs some sunglasses with all that sun shining on her.(-: It is only going to get hotter and sunnier in that spot as Summer arrives.

Elf On A Stump

You know how you see things when you are visiting other peoples blogs and wish you had something they have? Yeah happens all the time for me. Recently it was an Elf.
I was visiting Outlaw Gardeners blog. So I took a chance and wrote to ask where he found it.
He told me and I contacted the nursery.
They said they did not ship, but gave me the artists email addy. I contacted her and she said she would make me one. (-:
So, after much waiting, I now am a proud owner of my very own Elf.
He doesn't have a name yet.
I'm sure something will come up.
The Princess loves him.
We all do.
I added a potted fern for now. Will have to work on something for his "hair" (-:
