Blooms

The hibiscus are starting to bloom. It is a favorite of mine. They are huge and beautiful. They are also easy to grow.

This one is a bright red! Love it!

Next up is a lily of the Nile.

It is a pretty blue. They are also easy to grow. I like that they grow so tall. They are very refreshing in the summer heat.

Next up is the Ketchup and Mustard rose.
It is also another favorite of mine.
It is bright red and yellow.
I hope you are enjoying your day!

The week flew by

We had a nice 4th. I hope you did too. Hard to believe it has been  250 years.

My granddaughter made this by painting on a piece of plastic then laying a piece of paper over it and pressing down. We thought it looked cool.

I also saw this cloud the other day. I thought was a sign.

I hope you have a great week!

Orange You Cute

I painted my little bistro size table and chairs bright orange. It was a dull brown. I have had this set for many years.

I am loving it! I think it brightens up this little, otherwise dark corner and makes it look happy.

Or, as I said, cute.

Happy Tuesday!

Spring Like Weather

The weather has been so beautiful.  I have enjoyed it so much. It is nice to be outside. I am sure those days will be over soon enough. It was 62 degrees when I got up this morning  and only 83 degrees now.

Today I baked sourdough.

I also painted my bathroom. Now I need to wash everything and put it back. Always a lot of work when I paint.

The veggie garden is growing like crazy.

I take veggies and drop them off at friends whenever I go out.

I hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Hope you have a great week.

Heat Wave Week

I should be used to the heat since I was born and raised here, but every year it sneaks up on me and I feel like I am melting. 😆

I get as much done as I can before 11am, then I spend the rest of day inside.

The daylilies are blooming. I love the bright orange color! You might remember, if you have been following my blog, that originally I got some of the lilies from my great aunt.  They have spread and filled in all around my back garden.  I really look forward to seeing them bloom every year. I started growing these at my old house 43 years ago. I brought them to my new house in 1990.

This is another daylily that is blooming. It is a beautiful red color. It is a big plant and has many blooms over the season.

This flower is from a hoya heart plant. It is a house plant for me. I have had the plant several years and this is the first year it has bloomed.

This is a momma turkey. She is very special because she has two sets of babies.  No idea how that happened. 4 babies are a few weeks old and she also has 6 newly hatched ones too. No other turkey hen in sight, so either she hatched hers and then something happened to the other turkey or she sat on two sets of eggs. It is a mystery!

This past week I cut a new table cloth for my table on the porch.  They had the vinyl table cloths for 3.99 at Grocery Outlet so I got one and used my old table cloth as a pattern. They did not have small square ones.  This table needed a 36 inch square table cloth.

Where the table sits, it is hit by the sprinkler and sun. So I will see how this table cloth holds up. Its backed with felt.  It was actually a bargain for 3.99. If it holds up, I may go get a couple more.

I guess that is about it for now.

I hope you are enjoying the June days!

No Sunscreen Needed

It's  a silly day. I decided to paint my other head planter to match suntan Fisher. So I came up with suntan Francine. Kinda like Malibu Barbie and Ken. You remember them. They always had the best tans. Well, Francine and Fisher are sportin' a tan too. I added some glam to Francine. A couple shell necklaces and a sand dollar crown.  Her hair is a spider plant. Hopefully by the end of summer it will be big and full like a 60's girl!  They both have retro sunglasses on. Aren't they just perfect together?

I hope you are enjoying your day!

Pretty In Pink

This bench was my Grandma's.  She had it forever. I am guessing it must be 60 years old.  I decided to paint it and give it a new look.

I put it in the pink area of the yard where the rabbits are. It goes perfect there. I might move that head planter and add a rabbit there instead. Then of course I will need to find another place for the head planter. 😁

I am enjoying my first week off playing in the garden.  I hope you are having a great day too.

Update...

Much better!
