Stomach Virus

It has made it's way around the family. My Son and I are not included in this adventure yet. Last week my Son in Law got sick. I'm talking the major stomach upset full on volcano explosion.
The Princess got sick Friday. Daughter on Saturday. I spend the night with them on Saturday night because my daughter was so sick and couldn't watch the Princess. Hubby was out of town. Princess was feeling better by then. I figured I would be next. So far so good. (-: All those years working at school with sick kids may have paid off? Fingers crossed.
At the time my daughter called, my husband was also sick. SO whatever it is, is nasty. It comes and goes. One minute you are feeling good the next you are running for the bathroom. It doesn't help when it is 500 degrees outside either.
So when will this virus leave? No one knows. Just hopefully before it involves me(-:
Lucky think I stocked up on 7up. (-: Ugh I hate getting sick.
Anyhow, today we have a lot of hibiscus blooming and a sunflower. I ran outside and took a few pictures before I evaporated into dust.
Tomorrows high 115? Seriously? Why? LOL Can it be Fall now?

Shaving Cream Adventure

For about a buck you can entertain a 3.5 year old for over an hour. LOL
I saw a few people had tried this and thought it would be something the Princess would enjoy. Well I was right. She had a blast. It was a lot of laughs for both of us. I recommend you try it with your kids. It really was a cheap thing to do and it rates high on the list for fun!
Playing in the mud always rates the highest, but at least with shaving cream they smell nice and clean afterwards. (-:

Lighted Butterfly

I got the cutest light up butterfly yesterday. It is new made to look old. It supposedly had a timer and all that. Well when I got it, there was just an on and off switch. No timer setting. I wrote to the person I got it from and instead of returning item they said I could keep it and would just take money off the selling price. So since I love the butterfly I said yes. Well, to my surprise after the butterfly was lit for 6 hours it did turn off! Should I feel bad? I am going to wait until the time of day comes that the butterfly is suppose to turn on again and see. Then I will decide.(-: Made in China of course so not like it is worth that much to start with. It just makes me mad when I order something and it is not what it says it is. Here is a picture of the on/off switch
The instructions say turn to timer setting if you want the butterfly to be on for 6 hours and shut off. It is suppose to automatically turn on again in 18 hours. Well I looked for the on/off switch and there was no timer setting. That is why I wrote to the seller. I have several candles that do have timers and they do have a setting for that or instructions on how to push a button to set. Anyhow, it is cute and I know the Princess will enjoy seeing it lit up.

It is not for outside though. It has a cardboard backing that is removable so you can replace lights I guess. Which is fine, because I plan to use inside.
This picture is from the sellers listing. I didn't take a picture of it here. I think it looks better in person.

It was the biggest one I have seen so far. So pretty, but it would not sit still.
So only one picture turned out.
It was smokin' hot here today. 108 degrees. Yucky.
Didn't do a lot as you can imagine.
Tomorrow will be a couple degrees cooler.
Still trying to get things in order here.
On to the next day...Hope it's a good one!

Last Rusting Project

Decided this is it for the rusting butterflies. This one was not cooperating at all. Finally after spending the whole day dipping/letting it dry/dipping/letting it dry it finally worked. Ugh! No idea why that was. So decided this is the last one. LOL
In between this activity I worked on the bedrooms getting everything back together after the carpeting fiasco. So glad that is over too. That is also the last time I do that.
Is it just me or do people just have no respect for anything anymore? No respect for time or pride in the work they do or anything. I am discouraged by people. It also seems that no one wants to work anymore. Or go the extra mile so to speak. I was brought up differently I guess.
The carpet fiasco was just one thing.
The selling of my Mom's house was another and the gardener that mowed my Mom's lawn was another. It just seems that no one cares anymore about the work they do.
The realtor for the buyer gave the key to the buyers after they started escrow. That really made me mad. So unethical it seems. They left food uneaten in the house on the counters and cigarette butts smashed on the front sidewalk. Just rude and disrespectful.
I would never do that. People now days seem to not give a second thought. So glad that fiasco is over too.
It is going to be another hot weekend. How long till Fall? LOL
Have a great weekend!

Two More Rooms Carpeted

Waiting on guy to come do the molding. Why they don't have them do it the same day no one knows. Ugh! The carpet fiasco is almost over and then I can sit back and relax and enjoy the beautiful new carpeting. Tomorrow for sure they said.(-:
What they did sure looks nice.
Now to arrange all the furniture etc. That should take a week.
Stay cool!

Game Changer

So for several years now I have had terrible knee pain. It at times paralyzed me to the point I had to sit down. It came and went though so I kept on going when the pain was minimal. Nothing keeps me down for long. Although this knee pain did put a total damper on my fun and walking and etc. I had surgery on the same knee in high school for a torn meniscus. I just figured it was arthritis from that. But now I think it may have been a combo of things. I did buy new shoes all the time, but they never helped. The other day I got new shoes again and also had ordered some of these socks.
I wore them all day yesterday for the first time and even with having the Princess with me for 11 hours I was still going at 11pm. That is a miracle in itself. So I would say yes these socks do work!
This morning I expected to be in pain, but nope, nada. What is in these socks? No idea. They are really amazing. I will keep you posted on how I do. I did however order two more pairs. One for hubby to try and another for me.(-:
If you want to try them and you should... I got mine from Glenda @ Tootsie Time. Yes she sells socks too! Send her an email.
Order yours here:VoxxSocks from Glenda Duchak

Coolin' In The Cauldron

Remember when I got this cauldron and then found the perfect pump to go with it? Then I found the fish.

It cools me down just looking at it.

And So A New Week Begins

Wishing you plenty of peaceful days!
If the mosquitos are getting you down during the hot days of Summer, I suggest getting an electric bug zapper. We had a ton of mosquitos and it has cleared up the problem. Just one here and there now. For the nasty wasps we have a stick on thing that works like a charm. Nothing worse then the nasty bugs and the heat combined.
Peace and Love(-:

Hot Long Summer Days

I got another butterfly rusted for the bedroom. It turned out really nice.

I also bought a remote control butterfly that lights up for the Princess to enjoy. She will get a kick out of it. She likes all the Butterfly things so far.
I have more painting to do this week.
New carpet arrives in a week. Then hopefully we will be done.
Looking forward to enjoying the rest of the Summer.
Maybe it will cool down. LOL (-:
This will be the first week in years that I won't have to go to my Mom's house. It is going to be weird.
Oh well I have a lot to keep me busy here at home.
Hope you are all staying cool and enjoy your up coming week!

Not the kind that are alive. These are rusty and metal and hang on the wall. I had to rust the big butterfly. I used bleach and vinegar to do that trick. It turned out beautiful.

I guess I should have taken a before picture. Well you can imagine. Just plain old metal. Transformed into beautiful rust for my bedroom wall(-:
These little butterflies were the same and I rusted them up as well.
I forget a before picture again. )-:
But all that matters is they are beautiful and I love RUST! Yay! Now on to the next project.
Two more rooms to carpet and then I am done! I do love my new bedroom carpet! So pretty and soft!

New Rooster

Often someone drops off an unwanted animal on the road near our property. This time it was a very pretty white rooster. Not sure of what kind. He is small and fluffy. My daughter spotted him when she came to drop the Princess off. He was still there after she got off work 11 hours later. So we all went down the road to rescue him. It was pretty easy as he was hot and tired and ready to be rescued. My daughter had taken food and water to him on her way back down the road to work earlier. He gobbled it up and was happy to get more when she came back from work. So it seemed he was pretty domesticated.

The girls like him. We only have two left since the hungry bobcat ate all the other birds a couple years ago. So once again we have a rooster. He does like to crow. Oh boy what fun! LOL
