Counter And Floor

It is finished. Trying to get everything back in it's place. I love the marble counter tops and the floor is awesome. So it worked out the way I envisioned it would. A lot of work and delays, but it is finished! Yay! Now on to the next project.

Last Leg

It is almost over. Today is the new counter tops and rest of flooring then we can move back in. Yahoo! Hope it is really going to happen!
Camping in the house has been fun, but I am ready to enjoy the whole house again.
Molding is on and I like the look with the tile. Jack is not sure yet if he likes it or not.
As long as his favorite chair is back in it's place I am sure he will be happy.

Progress

I understand tile work is a lot of work, but when you show up at 1PM and work a couple hours one day then show up at 8AM and work till 1PM... Well lets just say....What the hell happened to an 8 hour work day? The younger generation knows nothing.  My Dad use to get to a job before the sun rose and worked until the sun set.  Oh well I guess it will get done when it gets done. Meanwhile we will eat fast food.

Like I said we have a little house. 1400 square feet total.
The color is green incase it looks grey on your screen. Kinda a sage color. Love it so much and I can't wait to have it all done(-:

Rolling Along

It is happening! The Tile is here and the base is laid. Today should be eventful. I am getting excited!
For us California peeps you will understand when I say it has that "Cal Trans" look.
Tomorrow however, it should be green. This will be in the kitchen/living room/dining area. No more carpet. I love carpet, just to hard to keep clean with dogs/kids etc. I have wood flooring in hallway/entry. I love it although that too is a lot of work to maintain. So going with tile this time around. Spills welcome. No more stressing over the small stuff!

TeePee Time

My Aunt sent this awesome TeePee to the Princess. Also a beautiful blanket to go with it. She loves it!
This week she won't be coming over but hopefully next week things will be back to normal here.

Ready For Friday

I know the week just started, but I am so over it already. Today is the start of tile laying. This should be an interesting day. The house is completely torn apart. The fridge is in the living room. Nothing is where it should be. Finding things is quite the challenge. O.K. deep breath I can do this. I know it will be totally awesome when it is all done. Crossing fingers and toes.
We are all sore from moving stuff and working hard all weekend. And to think we get to move it all back after this is done!
Jack is beside himself with anxiety. He hates changes. Poor Jack. We did keep his favorite chair in the living room so he could sit there and observe.
Ha! Ha!
Stay tuned!
Happy Monday!

Painting

The hard work continued today with painting. I painted the kitchen, dining room, living room and entry hall. I am beat. Figured since everything was moved out it was good time to do that. Also, did not have to worry about getting any paint on floors(-:  So glad I live in a little house.
Monday tile guy will be here. Can't wait to get it all done and everything back to normal.
Ha! What is normal?

Renovation Has Begun

We are getting new kitchen counters and tile flooring.  I have waited a long time to get this done. So at the moment the whole house is in shambles due to everything being moved all over to make room for the workers.  It is going to be a longggggg week.

New Light

Sometimes when you want something done you have to do it yourself. That was what I did yesterday. I have waited patiently for 1-1/2 years to get it done and yesterday I said well how hard can it be? Turns out not hard at all. Just took me a bit to figure it out. I like it!
Now what is next?

Love Fall But Hate The Darkness

I usually wake up at five in the morning. Which is a good time in the Spring and Summer, but Fall and Winter not so much.  It is dark out now until 6:30 or so. I really hate that. I love to get up and go outside. Guess I will be stuck now, for a few hours. I wish I could just sleep like everyone else does. Oh well, that's the breaks, as they say.

Yesterday I was out and about and I noticed my Japanese Anemone was blooming.  One I got years ago from my great aunt. It is a pretty pink double.
The Princess was hanging out with me yesterday. She is getting so big. She talks better then a 5 year old. So smart and sweet. We have a lot of good times. She loves to be outside. We are two peas in a pod.

A Butterfly Flew In

This happened yesterday as I was looking out the window from inside the house. I had to grab the camera and sneak up on him. He didn't seem to mind. I looked online and according to the two black spots on his lower wings it indicates this Monarch is a male. No sign of a mate. He did however enjoy the Verbena bonariensis.

What's New

So this happened the other day. I went outside and saw something on the wasp trap. Closer look and yup that is a BAT! Sad it got caught in that. I thought I would share for future useage of these little traps, which by the way are amazing and I give them 10 stars. We no longer have those wasps flying into our heads when we walk outside.

And this poor female pit bull dog was dumped at our house. She had some scrapes and was bleeding under her tummy. It looked like she could have had a run in with a wild animal or something.  I am hesitant with pit bull dogs, so have kept it in the dog pen area. I tried calling animal control, but of course they won't come out on holiday weekend. So she has to hang out with us for another night. She seems nice enough, I really don't trust her, to keep her, since I have a toddler around a lot. Hopefully, she will find a forever home.
