Busy Week

Got a lot done but still more to do. Today was spent with the Princess. We saw Santa, Mommy and Tapa, then we went to lunch.
She was funny seeing Santa for the first time. Dropped off picture to Mommy then off to see Tapa for a visit at his work. She wasn't into having another picture taken.
I have to scan Santa pic then will post.
The couch was approved by Jack so I guess it is staying.
I am enjoying it and the Christmas d├ęcor more this year.
Will be glad though to get it all packed up and put away.
Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!!!!!

Holiday Baking

I make this Potica every year. It was my Dad's favorite. I miss him like crazy. It is not the same without him here.
I am staying busy.
The fountain arrived and it looks same as picture. Now to get it set up.
I will work on that one today hopefully(-: It would be nice to have it set up and running for Christmas right?(-:

Santa's On His Way

I think his sleigh will arrive next Friday with my gift.
I ordered the fountain.
Can't wait to see how it looks. If it looks as good as everyone says it does or not.
Feeling Ho Hum this season since my parents are both gone. It is a difficult time for me. I do have the Princess though, and she keeps me on my toes. It has been fun having her here this year for sure. She is much more into the whole thing. She still does not want to go see Santa though. )-:
Hopefully she changes her mind. I really want her to go. It is a tradition. Oh well if not there is always next year right?
Tomorrow we are getting a new couch and chair. I am wondering how it will fit through the door. It could be quite the operation. We have been waiting for it to arrive for months now. Had to order it from Lazy Boy. I shopped and shopped and didn't find anything else I liked better. That was a fiasco in itself. We were able to see the chair in the store but the couch was only viewable online. The store gave us the run around, because they said we could not order it. Finally they found someone who worked there that said we could order it. I swear the people they hire now days! Ugh! No one wants to work it seems. They just want a paycheck. Anything extra required and they just say they can't do it.
So we have not seen the couch in person only the chair. We ordered both so they would match. Can't wait to see them!
This couch is leather and so is the chair. It will be much easier to care for. Our old couch/chair was over twenty years old. Still in great shape, but it was time for a change. Kinda sad to see it go, but it is going to a new home, so it will be used by someone else. Like I say it is in great shape. The chair was never sat in except when company came over. The couch is so big and it also is a sleeper. Never used that. So it will be good for someone else. I like recycling.(-:
I hope you enjoy your weekend. We have a full weekend planned.  Tonight is a sleepover with the Princess. Then tomorrow a couch/chair delivery followed up with a trip to see Dancing With The Stars Live on Sunday!  It will be a very busy next couple of days!

Happy Third Birthday To The Princess

Just three years ago this beautiful girl was born.
Where have those years gone? It has flown by so fast. I am so blessed to be able to spend so much time with my granddaughter. So many grand parents do not live close enough to see their grand children very often. I am so lucky. I enjoy everyday we are together.

She had a "Peaceman Party" as she called it, complete with a visit from a very nice officer who let the kids explore his SUV. What a fun day. She had a blast.(-:
I told her sitting in the front seat is where you want to sit...not the back...LOL(-: The kids dressed up too as you  can see.

Cow Pie Faces

It has been a while since I did a cow pie face post.
Yesterday the Princess and I took a walk around to check them out. Here is what we found.
Now you must use your imagination when viewing these works of art that the cows have created for our enjoyment...

Little Feet Snowmen

Made with little Princess feet.
It was a fun project we did together.
They are on their way to their new homes.
Old jeans for their bodies. Old jean scarves. Little twig arms.
Fimo clay hats and noses. I hand stitched their bodies together with a warm and natural backs. Stuffed with real cotton. Hand stitched faces.

This Is A Cool Log Waterfall

It would be perfect in my garden(-:

Before and After

I got this clock from my Mom. I had to do some alterations because it did not work. I removed the clock works and put in a battery clock works. You can buy them anywhere. I got mine at Michaels. I used the Restor-a-finish on the wood and the Feed and Wax by same company. I love this stuff. I used it on all my wood. It is so easy to use and it is something that really does work. I don't advertise on my blog, but when I find something that really works for me I like to mention it, because it may be helpful to someone.(-:
Anyhow...I also did a little mosaic on the face. It was not complete without some leaves. I searched on Etsy for someone who did ceramics and ordered two leaves. I glued them on and added a couple sticks to look like leaves. I am pleased with the transformation. The same clock only different. More cheerful? I think so.
This is actually not the original clock. I swiped this picture off the net because I forgot to take a picture of the clock before. I thought I did but I could not find one. Anyhow, this is what it looked like before. Except it was the wind up clock version that did not work. After taking off the clock works there was a hole at the 6' O'clock area that was very noticeable. So I had to do something...The original clock also had a pendulum so I bought a kit with one in it. It was a simple project to do.
Fun and I like the result.

Christmas Scentsy

I love Snoopy.
I ended up getting the SceneARama snow instead of the bag of flakes they sell at Michaels. I thought that snow was to big for this little jar. Glad I did because I like it a lot better.
Snoopy is an ornament for the tree. I got him at Sears. The trees were at Michaels. I had to cut them down to size.
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
We enjoyed ours.

A Garden Visitor

I usually see squirrels, raccoons, skunks and turkeys in the garden but this morning I saw this.
I was so happy because it has been a while since a deer has stopped by to visit.
There are a lot of apples still on the ground, so hopefully he will come back again and clean those up.
I don't mind them coming later in the year, but of course they can really clean house at other times.
They are still fun to watch.
However, I have seen them strip a rose bush in just a couple minutes.
Oh well I love deer anyhow. That is why I plant so many plants in my garden.
Some for me and some to share with the wild animals that drop by.
Jack has been barking at night lately and since he never barks at the other critters, my guess is this buck has been visiting more often at night. Or perhaps his friends.
The cows have arrived too so now it is a job to make sure the gates are closed so they don't get in. I like cows but I really don't like them in the yard.
You can imagine why. Deer are agile and can jump over things without knocking them down. Cows on the other hand just plow through. Add 30 cows to that and you can see why I don't want them in the yard. So closing gates is a must.
It is a Winter time routine.

Enjoy your weekend!

What Matters Most

Now that the election is over let's celebrate!
I know I am!
First order of business...hug my Dear Sweet Princess!
I love her with all my heart!
Remember family is what is most important.
Be Thankful and Praise God! Have faith. It is going to be o.k.

It Was A Snap

This was a very easy project. Total cost 8 dollars. I got the lantern free from my brother.
I bought a snap in light/cord from Home Depot and the light bulb there too. It is brown, but just like the white cords that pop into the little Christmas village houses.
I removed the wick assembly part and snapped in the light bulb cord. Replaced the glass shade and plugged it in. Now I just need a timer so it can turn off and on by itself!

Scentsy Thanksgiving

Here is what I came up with for this up coming holiday.

Coffee Pot

My Mr. Coffee lasted 8 months. Decided to try this one this time. I think it may be the hard water that is killing my coffee makers, but not sure. They never make it a year and I have tried several different brands.

Happy Halloween

Back when things were less complicated. Although I thought they were! I always enjoyed Halloween with the kids. The years have flown by and now the Princess is going Trick or Treating for her first time. My life is flying by faster then a witch on a broomstick.
Stay safe everyone!
Happy Halloween!

A Nail To The Head?

Well that is what it felt like.
Instead it was just a wasp. Just a wasp?
Yup that was it. I swear for a few minutes I could not see.
It was a bad sting. I usually get bit by the meat bees.
I have not actually been stung in I don't know how long. Years at least.
So this was a new one for me. I had a headache all day, but today I feel better.
We had a huge under ground nest of these wasp creatures. They are being eliminated.

Fun Times

The past two days have been spent creating play dough pizzas. What more fun can you have then creating little pizzas! O.K. I know....It would be fun if you could eat them!
This activity seems to keep the interest of the Princess for hours! She absolutely loves making play dough pizza and other play dough things. Seriously...hours!!! We played with play dough all day both days she was here except a couple walks in between and a nap!
It always amazes me what kids like. My son was obsessed with planes when he was a kid. My daughters thing was Barbie. So fun to be part of this adventure I am so lucky I get to be a stay at home Grandma and watch the Princess so much! We have so much fun together!
And yes that is broccoli on that pizza. She insisted we put that on there.

Time Flies

Just wanted to say hi! I can't believe how fast the month went by. I was sick for three weeks of it though. Caught a nasty virus. Feeling better now so I am trying to catch up.
We had a nice rain. Over three inches here! It really helped. I am looking forward to more rain and a nice cooling down. I love this time of year!
Daylily from last Summer(-:
It has all the right colors for Halloween!
Last weekend we had a Good Witch season 2 marathon. I love the series. The Halloween show is coming up soon.
I hope you are doing well. Have a great week!

Counter And Floor

It is finished. Trying to get everything back in it's place. I love the marble counter tops and the floor is awesome. So it worked out the way I envisioned it would. A lot of work and delays, but it is finished! Yay! Now on to the next project.
