Rice Krispies Ear

Anyone ever have this going on in their ear? It is annoying to say the least. Went to doc yesterday. He thinks it is allergy related. I have a lot of pressure like when you go up in the mountains or on a plane etc.  I have not done either to have this happen!
He said there is bulging in the ear. Fluid behind eardrum or something.
It won't clear up and I have tried everything over the counter for it. So I got RX for Flonase yesterday and will try that and see if this ear will clear up. I may be in the looney bin if not.(-:

So fun to get old. NOT!(-:
Also I need a bump removed from my finger that is bothering me a lot. Doc thinks it is a cyst. So referred to Ortho hand specialist. Yippee. Same hand I cut finger off with the lawn mower. I think it is related to that incident. That finger was split like a banana and they sewed it back together. So I am sure it is a problem from that. Middle finger could not completely saved because the top part was cut off, but it works well. No problems there. Just the bump on the index finger is painful when I do a lot of typing. So off it will go and then I will be typing at lightening speed again! (-:

Hope all is well with you! Have a great day!

Think Pink Day 2014

I had to get a few pictures of GP with the Princess before he left for work.
Today was Think Pink Day. That is why everyone is all pink! So cute(-:

The pink petunias just made the perfect backdrop for the picture.
The morning glory is taking over that area. It has grown 20+ feet this summer!

A Light By The Sea

I ordered a hanging, mason jar, solar light top. I thought it looked cool and would be fun to make a miniature beach garden in a mason jar. Fully charged, this little light lasts all night long!

It looks totally awesome all lit up at night. I couldn't get a picture of it lit up, so you will have to take my word for it.
I still want to add a few more miniatures to it, but this is the basic jar light. I need to go to Michaels and get a few more things. I used what I had here to try it out first.
I hung it next to the sink fountain where Sid and the other sea stuff is.
I am still looking for a large mouth solar light lid, because I think a bigger jar would be nicer and more room for decorating. The small mouth jar is tricky to get the stuff in just right. I used tongs to place the sea shells. It is a fun project though.

Done Fishing?

I found this cute Sid the Fish from Carruth Studios on Amazon and thought why not order it?
Well it arrived and I could barely find it in the box!
Not only was I not satisfied with the product but it was not advertised correctly.
This fish was a wall hanger. They said on Amazon it was a fish you could display on the ground...if you could find it that is!
Seriously it was maybe 4 inches long. More like 3.
Well I complained and sent it back. Free postage of course! So they asked if I wanted to order another one. I said not the same one, but a bigger size. Well lucky for me there was a BIG Sid!

So it came today. Seriously, it was broken! Was I upset?
Yup I was a little upset. I wrote another complaint and they said they would refund my money and to just keep the broken fish. No need to send it back. So that was a new one. I have never actually got to keep something that I got a refund on. SO that made me a little happier.(-:

Sid has a broken fin on one side. He is still basically a wall hanger but hanging will not be his fate.

This fish is bigger at about 8 inches long. Again advertised as 11". That is a lot different. The broken fin is on the side that will face away, so more then likely no one will ever  notice it.
Still it just makes me mad that they sent it broken. After looking through the box there were no pieces that matched the broken area! So how could it be sent in one piece and then break in transit and have no broken pieces in the box? Plus he was not wrapped in bubble wrap. He was just sat in the box on top of shredded papers.
Here is what Sid looks like out in the garden in a pot of snake plant.(-:

So I guess I should be all done fishing right?
Well no. I still have a whale to catch! Lucky thing it is in an online auction!
Stay tuned for a whale of a story...

Pond Fun

A couple of river otters have moved in. Not much water around here besides the pond here. Long walk to the river.
The creek is still dry. Hoping for rain next week!

Rusty Octopus

The octopus plant stake finally arrived after a month!
Geez, Is he just late or is he early for next Summer?
Of course he came without rust, so I had to work some magic on his little body. I found that bleach and vinegar work the best for rusting quickly. Smells horrible but it works and that is the main thing I guess.
So I am happy with how the new addition turned out. He does fit in that planter quite well.

I am still enjoying the mirror. I like that it is round and it fills up the space better.

On the right of the picture you can see my new Cape May Bell from North Country Wind Bells.
It does sound pretty when the wind blows, reminiscent of being at the ocean.(-:

Frogs and an Apron

I have had these primitive frogs for years. I bought them online. I do have the artists name if someone wants it.
I have always loved them so much, and I never get tired of their happy faces greeting me as I enter the kitchen!(-: I have a baby frog too. He is displayed on another shelf.
I decided the other day that the Mother frog really needed something added to her dress. So I added an apron I embroidered with the saying from my blog. I coffee stained it to match her already coffee/tea stained dress.
I found a super easy tutorial online that shows how you can print a pattern on your ink jet printer using fabric! It is so awesome and it works great. Here is the directions incase you want to try one yourself.
http://www.instructables.com/id/Inkjet-Printing-on-Fabric/

I was a little concerned about trying it but it was really easy. It makes embroidering something so much easier then trying to trace a design on fabric or ironing it on. I plan to make some other things when I get a chance. It was really fun(-: You can also do this to transfer a design to wood. I haven't tried that yet but I plan to someday.
