Mirror Window Finished

Updated 2/27/11 New photo of this mornings sun shining on the mirror(-:

I finally got it done today. It actually tried to snow last night. Today it was clear and cold! I went out and washed the mirrors and got it all cleaned up. It is so sparkly! I am so happy!
I am going to get some silk ferns to fill the window box. I think it would finish it all off really well instead of the netting. What do you think?

To see how the window looked before I added the mirrors go here

Silk ferns sound safe! If you are ever in Red Bluff stop by the Garden Center and look me up. I was suppose to be teaching a class on seed starting today, but I am snowed in in Shingletown so it will be next Saturday at 10. I'd really love to meet you...I think you might have some garden decorating tips for me!!!

Thanks Robin(-:
Thanks Rachel(-:

LOL@fern(-: Yup safe is good right? That place is very dark/dry in the summer so thought fake would be good(-: Besides I don't want to put dirt in the window box since it is attached to the house. I might change my mind again of course because thats what I do best...(-:

Cindee that looks like it was a big job. Looks great. Silk ferns would look good, but don't forget about the succulents we love. They tolerate the heat w/ little water. Would small pots fit in your window boxes? How did you attach all the mirrors to the glass and not have what you used show? Thanks for sharing.

Succulents would be a perfect idea too!

Hi Lola,
I am still thinking about the ferns. I haven't gone shopping yet.(-:

Hi Creekside Rummager,
I was thinking about succulents too but it doesn't get much sun there if any. Its real shady. So not sure if they would do to well there. I could try I guess.
I glued all the mirrors onto pieces of recycled plywood that was cut to fit each "pane". I used GE Silicone II glue. Then I grouted it all with a black grout. I cut all the mirrors by hand. That was a big job!(-: 126 pieces per "window pane". Glad I am done but I am already thinking about making another one(-: LOL

I like the netting, Cindee. It is in keeping with the nautical theme. But knowing you, whatever you choose to do it will be very cool. I love your window/mirror/mosaic.
