So Excited

post signature

As you can see we have a new visitor. I saw it poking its head out of the house today. I was thrilled! I think its a screech owl but I am not positive yet. It is very small though so that makes me think its a posibility! Yay for me! So happy! I love all creatures and this is just a real joy to have this one visiting me today(-: Maybe it will stay here and have a family? Time will tell! Either way I am so lucky to get to see it.
My husband reminded me that we had a owl in this box a few years ago. Sure enough I looked it up and there it was. See it here

Yes, you are lucky. We hear them all around here all the time but I can never spot one.

I'm so glad I can leave a comment again, Cindee. [Maybe I'm just slow catching on?] I love your screech owl. I hope it stays and has babies. Wouldn't that be wonderful!

We have so many different owls here: Three pairs of barn owls in one of the big hay barns, a couple of screech owls that live in an ancient cedar by the bunkhouse, and a great horned owl that often visits. They are all interesting to watch and really help to keep the rodent population down in the area.

I am having fun with the owl. I hope he stays too(-: We have had a Great Horned owl couple who have raised a couple of families in our big pine tree. They are so pretty I love to see them. This little owl is hidden in theh ouse but I can still climb up the ladder and check on it(-: I will try not to bother it to much.(-:

OMG ! Cindee I had no idea what that was until I read about it !
Do you hear it screech at all ? Is it going to have a nest and babies there? is it on the ground ? how did you know it was there ? .. 101 questions I just can't help myself !

Joy,
I saw the owl sticking his head out the hole last week. I had to investigate because I did not know what it was.(-: Its been here ever since but no idea when it arrived.
I have not heard it make a sound. I listened to a clip online and they kinda sound like a dog whinning. I am listening for something like that(-:
It is about 12 feet off the ground in a woodduck house.(-: I hope it finds a mate and has a bundle of fluff balls too!! I can't wait. I will keep watching it(-:
