Amaryllis Blooming

O.K. here it is. I must say I am not that impressed with them. I guess I was expecting a lot bigger flowers. These are pretty average sized nothing out of the ordinary. My other bulb has a few leaves and a bud coming up. I will take a picture when it blooms! I received the bulbs from...
White Flower Farm.

They are a beautiful color. I have some lilies called regal lily. Some of the bulbs are the size of a honeydew melon. But the flowers are about as big as Amaryllis.

I love the red blooms Cindee. It looks like it may be a miniature variety. Their blooms are a little smaller and their stems shorter.

It's a pretty one and is a pleasant harbinger of OUTSIDE things to come.

They may be smaller than you expected but are a stunning colour!

I think they're very pretty! I was just sitting outside looking at their catalog today.

Yours are beautiful. The color seems is very attractive because it seems less commonto me. I can never successfully get them to bloom again the next year.

Does your flower look like the one pictured in the catalog? If not, send the vendor your picture and ask if you received the right bulbs.

Maybe the flowers are smaller than you expected, but the blooms and the color are beautiful. I think there is a certain kind you buy that has those really big blooms. I think yours is very pretty! I put mine out in the yard after it bloomed, and it comes back every year. You need to try that! :)

Hi Japanese Redneck,
Thanks they are pretty and they would make a perfect bouquet(-: I was thinking they would be really big blooms because of the bulb size(-:

Hi Hocking Hills Gardener,
They must be a miniature variety. They are only about one foot tall. But lots of flowers on each stock so that makes up for the size(-:

Hi Grace,
Thanks! I am having a good time looking forward to more blooms outside!

Hi Peggy,
The color is fantastic! I am enjoying them!

Hi Cozy Little House,
They are pretty! Cheerful too!

Hi Creekside Rummager,
I have one in the yard that comes back every year. Its a pink one though so hopefully I can plant these outside and see them bloom again.

Hi NellJean,
It does look like the picture. I didn't read about the size though. I should check that out(-:

Hi Meadowview Thymes,
Thanks. I have some in the yard too. I hope these do come back again!

Hi GardenJoy4Me,
Thanks!
On my way!

Hi Shelly,
Thanks(-: I will check it out(-:

The color is gorgeous. I bought a few amaryllis from White Flower Farms a few years ago. They were really expensive and I wasn't that impressed either for the price. The past few years I've been buying them at Lowes and I actually they are much nicer and definitely cheaper.

Cinde, I wanted to let you know that I posted a picture of your bird resting on the old window pane on my blod and on the Boardwalk Blotter. Both posts have one picture with direct links back to your blog for more information and inspiration. Feel free to grab a "featured" button on the Boardwalk Blotter. You will find it here:
