A few years ago I cut the tip of my finger off with the lawnmower. It has an infection in it now I guess. Unknown how that happened though. It is swollen and red, very painful. So I am not able to do anything this week except go to work and a few chores one handed. I probably should go to the doctor but I am hoping it will just get better on its own.(-: The last thing I want is someone touching it!
So I will be "lurking" around here enjoying your blogs(-:

I hope your finger feels better. If it's not better soon it might be good to get it checked out. You wouldn't want to miss out any gardening because of a sore finger :)
If you have an infection you should get it checked out it may not get better on its own!Take care
Please be very careful! If it isn't better in a day go to the doctor right away. Also if you feel any side effects such as dizzyness or confusion, go to the emergency room immediately.
My husband had a swollen knee years ago and it was a staff infection. We went to the emergency room at 10 pm and they admitted him much to our surprise. He could have died if we'd waited til morning.

I've considered doing that but can't get up enough courage to do so.
I hit a fingertip full force dead on with a 5 lb. hammer once. You'd think it would have turned 'dead' but it's super sensitive instead.
Yikes Cindy. My well-wishes are coming your way. Have you considered that you might need antibiotics? Any red streaks running up your arm?

Thanks for the suggestions.(-: I am keeping a close eye on it. Our school nurse is there today so going to have her take a look at it. Seems like something is in it maybe. I may have done that over the weekend when I was doing a lot of raking/cleanup and rock hauling. oh well life is hard when you play in the dirt(-:

I know what you mean! Cutting off part of my finger just made it more sensitive I should have cut it all off to prevent bumping it into things....

My grandmother did that when I was a kid. Like to scared me to death. Feel better soon, Cindee. And please go to the doctor if it isn't better pretty quick!

I had a bike accident when I was a kid...had spokes in the back of my leg...it healed and a few months later ended up infected...turned out I had a piece of metal from my spokes stuck in there and they ended up making me sick!!! get to the doctor!!!

You may need antibiotics to get better. If it doesn't heal soon please go get it checked out. Watch for that red line thing people talk about that indicates blood posioning too. Take care.

You know me girl - a nurse in a high school - I get into that gross stuff - plus I am a mom of 2 grown sons - so many trips to the ER my dad wanted to give me gift certificates!!! Wish I could give you a hug and make you a cup of tea...get better soon, Jennifer
