The wind is blowing,
Oh, so, hard.
To bad it can not clear my yard.
But, no matter,
How hard it blows,
The leaves are stuck,
To the grass below.

It screamed and howled,
All through the night!
It certainly caused us,
Quite a fright.
The branches were bending,
Reaching, far,
As if they were grasping for a star.

But, the moon was gone.
The stars not out.
Rain was falling all about.
For this my friend,
Is winter time.
I must end this now,
I'm out of time.

Very good Cindee. Were you inspired with that storm you were going to get the other day? I take it you DID get it. Does your talent never end?

Amazing how you whip poems out so quickly. My daughter called this a.m. to check on us after the big winds. She lives in a 100+ yr old house and the wind was blowing through its cracks.

Hi Cindee~~ Just to the north of you, we're getting the wind too. There was one gust last night that I swear must have been 50 mph. I guess one more storm will be coming in later tomorrow. We can't unbatton those hatches quite yet.

Hi RainGardener,
That storm arrived yesterday! Wow it rained! Shasta Lake went up like 5 feet in one day! That is pretty good(-: Exciting for all those fishing peeps(-:

Hi Creekside Rummager,
You had the same strong winds there probably! It was wild! We have a lot of huge pines here and when the wind blows like that it is kinda scary!(-: I bet your daughter was having an interesting evening too!(-:

Hi Barbee,
It sure can!

Hi Grace Peterson,
Our wind gusts seemed stronger then 50 but it probably was about that! Just sounds louder!(-: Its still blowing now! It pours rain then stops then starts again. It is pretty interesting!!!

Hi Meadowview Thymes,
Must be the time of year for wind! Those big storms are blowing in left and right here! I really am enjoying it(-: I just hope it keeps raining for a long time because we are in dire need of it! We have had a drought here for the last few years.

Love your poem! Got your message from my blog. Yes I have gone to Up Country Gardens...it is a quaint little nursery, closed for the winter now. I am hoping to work at Wyntour Gardens in the spring. Up Country is actually for sale so we'll see what happens for them in the spring.
