Plant ID Needed Please

Can anyone tell me the name of this one?
Someone dumped a huge pile of it on the side of the road near my house so it is free for the picking if its worth it? I grabbed a big bunch to bring home to check out. It seems interesting enough(-:
Roots attached and set into a 15 gallon pot for the picture(-:

It looks like some kind of cactus, aloe or something in that family.
I can't see it that plain.

Cindee girl how are you !!
Hey .. maybe there was a reason some one dumped it ? so I would keep it in a pot first to see how it behaves .. then if you do want to put it in the ground .. have it away from favorite plants in case it is a thug or a runner and take pictures so we can see what happens too !!

I'm not sure. It almost reminds me of ornamental grass. Kinda sorta like La. Iris.

Hard to tell from the picture.

Is it Yucca? If it is you will never get rid off it. They have deep roots and sharp leaves.

Hi Lola,
It seems like a grassy type plant like pampus grass but with bigger leaves. I am going to ask at the nursery today(-:

Hi Brenda,
It is pretty and seems hardy. Its been laying roots uncovered on the side of the road for over a week and still alive(-:

Hi Gail,
I am going to keep in in a pot and see what happens(-:

Hi GardenJoy4Me,
LOL I know! I am going to keep it in a pot for that reason(-:

Hi Japanese Redneck,
Yeah that is what it seems like to me too. Some sort of grass.

Hi Hocking Hills Gardener,
I looked up Yucca and it doesn't seem like any of the ones I saw online. It doesn't have a main stem. The leaves come up from the ground. The root ball was about a foot and a half deep and a couple feet wide.
