Cindee girl these are great pictures ! You have a lot of blooming cactus , so maybe you can help me out with my Xmas cactus .. it is rather dull and lackluster .. hasn't bloomed for ages .. what fertilizer if any am I suppose to use and how often ? .. I'm really not great at cactus for some reason ? LOL
So pretty even though prickly :-) Look but dont touch!
I need help Cindee--I need to transplant a cactus---no, it's a succulent, three of them in a pot. I bought cactus potting soil(is that right to use?) and have a larger pot. Any pointers? I can't believe your Christmas Cactus is blooming!!
Hi Joy,I am not an expert on growing cactus or succulents but what I do is I leave my Christmas Cactus outside all the time. In the winter I move it to a frost free area which is my front porch. It doesn't get that cold here. In your area you could leave it out till the first frost and bring it inside. It blooms according to daylight hours. I don't fertilize it regularly but I probably have hit it with a dose of MiracleGro once or so.(-:Hi Skeeter,The rat tail cactus are not really prickly cactus. They are more soft and you can touch them carefully.Hi Meadowview Thymes,I just use regular potting soil for my succulents. It is very hot and dry here though. As long as the soil drains well then there should be no problem. I think the cactus soil would probably work.My Christmas Cactus always blooms about this time of the year(-: I think its a Graduation Cactus!!! I leave it outside all year around so its not forced into blooming like the nursery grown ones are.
I have a pot of cacti that I started from seed almost 3 years ago...they are guarded with my life! One day I will post them...yours are wonderful...so healthythanks for always saying such nice things when you visit my blog...you are truly a sweet person!
