Turkey Thursday

She says...I am hiding from the turkey hunters! This looks like a safe place to hang out until Turkey hunting season is over(-: I will bring my friends over too and we will all hang out here.
This morning we had five turkeys in the yard. Two toms and two hens. One tom was the "Granddaddy" of the turkeys. He was massive. Of course I couldn't get a picture of him. I am sure he will come back again and I will try to get his picture then(-: I hope you all have a great Thursday!!!!! Gobble Gobble!

My brother is also a turkey hunter. He was up here last weekend and didn't find any turkeys...so I sent him the picture. They were here the whole time hiding(-:

Too cute do they eat your flowers ?
hugs, Cherry

Hi Cherry,
No they don't seem to bother my flowers. I put out corn for them so that keeps them busy and they also eat bugs.

We never have anything but bunnies and deer. The turkey is not a very handsome creature but he sure sets a nice table.

Hi Anna,
I think turkeys look prehistoric(-: They are so strange and when they run they look even more funny!
Thanks for stopping by!!!(-:

I seen a ton of wild turkies on my drive to my new home. I was blown away at how many there were up and down the highway! whoah! =)

Turkeys are always so easy to get close to unless you are hunting them. THat has always cracked me up.

Do you see these alot Cindee?? Are they friendly--or do you need to stay away? Pretty nice looking bird!!

Good shot - I haven't gotten close enough to get a good photo yet. They come to the yard but flee at the first sign my presence. Even when in crop fields they'll take off if I pull over.

I do chase them from the yard. A flock came through my veg garden once and left it looking like a WW1 battlefield.

Hi Paris,
I see them all over too. Even in town(-: I guess they just fly in for a bite to eat and then fly out!
Hope you are doing well(-:

Hi flowrgirl1,
That is funny. You can get close to them when you are just looking at them with a camera. I think they know what you are doing.(-:

Hi Meadowview Thymes,
They seem friendly for wild animals. I have raised turkeys and they are very friendly. Like a dog!

Hi Hocking Hills Gardener,
Thanks! I like watching them too.

Hi Wise Acre,
You need to put out corn for them to eat then they will eat that and leave(-: I am sure they would love a veggie garden more though(-: Yummm fresh tomatoes(-:
They do scratch like a chicken so that is annoying!
