With rain in the forcast I was able to get the girls house and pen cleaned up Saturday and ready for a bit of winter weather. They all looked so happy before they were locked in for the night(-:Good Night Sleep Tight
They are so beautiful! I didn't realize that you had hens. My grandmother use dto have a hen house at her house when I was a child. I remember going in there to collect egg. Down the road a bit someone had those fancy roosters so we had to keep an eye on the hens ;)
How fun! I love them...That is part of my dream to have a hen house...It's fun to see yours!
Hi Vicky,I really enjoy the girls. They are fun to watch and of course we love to get fresh eggs. They miss their boyfriend so hopefully soon I will find them a new one. Their last boyfriend was killed by a hawk. Last weekend we put netting up over their pen so the hawks can't get them anymore. We lost three hens and the rooster in the last month or so)-: I know they are hungry but they need to find another free meal.(-:Hi Cyndee,Chickens are fun(-: I hope you are able to get yours too!
It's probably been 30 (maybe even 40) years since I've been in a chicken coop (what we called their house when I was a kid). I still remember the sound of the soft noises they made as they were settling into sleep. It was a comforting sort of sound. :-)
Hi Renna,They do make fun sounds when they are getting settled down(-: When I let them out in the morning everyone is so happy and ready to start the day. Some girls are already in the nest ready to lay an egg(-:
