Whats New Today?

Sanding...I am working on an old Motel Chair for my Dads GF's sister. Its a lot of work because it was rusty/pealing paint/etc. So I sanded it and put a coat of paint on it and sanded it again this morning. Its going to be a long process. Hopefully she will like it. She wants it to be the same as her sisters chair that I made a couple years ago for Mothers Day. This is what the chair I made looked like.

I am not sure it will be exactly the same and that worries me because it is hard to do something exactly the same. But I am going to try. The chair itself is different. Its not the same exact chair etc. So anyhow that is my latest project.
Here is the chair I am working on...

Nice project Cindee. I'm sure with a coat of paint in the same colors it will tie the two together even though they have different shapes. Can't wait to see the finished product, the orignal chair you did has a lot of character & charm.

Well, how sweet of you! I love it. I have no painting skills whatsoever.

I love old chairs. I have several in the garden, but nothing as pretty as the one you painted. What talent!! Be sure and post a picture of the finished product.

We had several of those type chairs and also a glider on the front porch where I grew up! Not sure what happened to them when my parents bought a new house. Hum,I will have to ask them. Would be great to find out they are under their house! I see those all over the place here in the Deep South. They make reproduction ones now but pricey...

Cant wait to see the final product...

What a lovely thing for you to do. I love the chair. So pretty--you are so talented. I have been wanting one of those chairs forever. I don't see them around here. I did see one in Ga. when I took a little trip but it was so pricey. Could almost get a new reproduction for what they wanted.
I also would like to see the finished product.

Wow ! .. you are so sweet to try so hard to duplicate the chair design like this. I love the look of a personalized garden ? chair .. hum .. you might find a business cropping up from this type of thing girl ! LOL

Isn't that a 50's lawn chair?
Love what you did with it.
The font is just perfect.

Hi perennial gardener,
Thanks for commenting. I haven't had time to work on the chair this weekend but hopefully soon(-:

Hi brenda,
I like doing painting when I am in the mood.(-: I have a hard time painting but I cheat and copy the words off the computer to use! I don't do free hand lettering anymore.

Hi meadowview thymes,
Thank You(-:

Hi skeeter,
Someone gave me the chairs. I painted another one for someone else too. The Repo ones are more expensive and not as quality built. These ones will last forever.

Hi lola,
Keep watching you might find one at a flea market or garage sale. Especially if it needs work. Most people don't want to mess with fixing them up.(-:

Hi Tina,
Its pretty fun once you get started. I try to do a little on it everyday and spread out the work..(-:

Hi Sandra,

Hi Joy,
Well so far I have a lot of request for painting the chairs...for free(-: LOL Oh well.

Hi Patsi,
We call them Motel Chairs here. I guess they are a lawn chair though(-:

That's really neat. You're such a sweetie to make them their own pesonalized chairs. You'll be hard at work on your chairs and I'll be working on finishing and decorating my basement. A productive day all around. Show us the finished product, okay????

They'll probably be very similiar...but unique in their own way! More like a one-of-a-kind piece of art!
