Sink Fountain

I finally got the pump for the sink fountain. I still am not sure if I like the lattice behind the sink or not. I used it to cover up the "plumbing" I thought it might also look better if I had a broken mirror mosaic hanging on the lattice too. Any suggestions? Lattice was recycled from an arbor that bit the dust. Pump was from Harbor Freight 25.00. Tubing for faucets/recycling water was from Home Depot. I used hose clamps to keep the tubing tight going into the faucets. The exit water tubing attached without any problem to the old pipe that was still on the sink.

I also rearranged the goldfish. Here is what they are doing now.

9-1-08 painted the lattice...added some ferns. I am having a hard time deciding if I like it black or white...lol The black makes it blend in and the white makes it stand out. I have ordered little 3 inch mirrors to glue to the back of the lattice in random places. I guess I will wait till I do that to decide if I like the black lattice or not. I will probably tape them up there to decide and if I like it better white I can easily remove them and repaint.

The first thing I was going to say was I like the lattice. Nice idea! Might have to steal it for my sink which is right now laying in the garden (for five months now!) Ouch!

I like the lattice. It will be fun decorating around it. I love water features in the yard.

I like the lattice Cindee. It really is a nice backdrop for the sink fountain. (which by the way is a fabulous creative idea) The mosaic mirror would look great on the lattice. Above the sink would give it some whimsy. Your bathtub pond filled with plants & goldfish is clever too. :)

Yes, hang a mirror on the lattice. What a clever idea to use an old sink in this way. Oh just thought--what about a little flower box under the mirror with some plants that will refelct off the mirror. Or you could put some sedums in the box and that way not too much maintenance.

Love the fountain Cindee. A mirror would be good, or you could train some type of vine. Perennial gardener's clematis vine sure is pretty! Would that work for you?

I like your sink, cindee. the lattice gives you more area for decorating. how 'bout a shelf with a shaving cup planted with a flower and an old razor sitting on it.

Hi Tina,
Thanks!!! Well I have had the sink since May and it was just sitting there waiting for something to be done with it(-: I hope you get yours fixed up soon too(-:

Hi skeeter,
Thanks for your comment(-:

Hi eve,
Thanks for commenting!!!(-:

Hi perennial garden lover,
Thanks, I guess the lattice is a keeper!! Everyone seems to agree!!!
I will have to work on a mirror.

Hi Anna,
I like that idea too with a flower box. I will have to get to work on that(-: It would look nice having something reflecting!!!

Hi meadoview thymes,
I thought of a clematis but I am not sure there because it only gets a few hours of sun a day. I was also thinking of some ivy. Thanks for commenting!!!

Hi Jody,
I love your idea too!! that would look really cute!!! thanks for commenting!!!

Oh, how innovative you are! What about painting the lattice something to blend more into the background? Or a pretty bright blue? And maybe hang S-hooks from it for things like old watering cans or garden tools? And I really like what you did with the last photo!

The first thing I thought when I realized the fountain was a sink is that you need a mirror above it - on the lattice. You are so clever!

Cindee,
That's so CUTE! Love that ideas...I like anne comments...good comments..I also thought of maybe you can plant a climbing rose bush so it can climb on the lattice...love the ideas about a mirror on the lattice too! Thanks for stopping by...I appreciate your sweet comment. ~Kathy~

Yes! I was thinking "add a mirror" even before I read you were thinking of it. A former neighbor had an old clawfoot tub, and made it into a fountain, it was lovely. You did a great job with the sink.

I love the sink! As to the lattice, I agree that you need something to hide the plumbing, and yet the white sink seems to blend in with the white lattice.

If you get some type of ivy or climbing plant going up the lattice, it won't matter what color it is. Without a plant, I'm wondering if a different color on the lattice might be better.

Regardless of what you do, it is all quite pretty! :-)

Once again I missed answering you all.
I ended up painting the lattice black and adding a shelf with little posts on it to hang stuff on. I ordered some three inch mirrors that I plan to glue on the back of the lattice in some of the spaces. I planted more ferns and added a piece of driftwood at the bottom. I am still working on it but I will add another picture on the blog so you can see how it looks right now. I don't know if I am liking it yet or not but I am getting use to it...(-:
