For Anna.. Happy 4th!!!

She wanted to see my decorations. Well as you know the fires have limited my outside time this past couple weeks. I did manage to get out this morning and mow the lawn and I was stung twice by wasps. I hate those little things.
Anyhow, here are my pictures of the decorations I put up. Although, I have the stars and the flag up all the time(-: My DH put up the flag pole and added a light that automatically comes on at dusk and turns off at dawn. It is an energy saving light and it works fantastic. The little holiday tree I decorate for each holiday and it sits on my entryway table.
I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and stays safe.

How pretty!! I love your front porch...and love the tree! You and I certainly have the same decorating style. I hope to see more pictures as the seasons change!

Well, if there's anything prettier than your flowers and gardens, it's your house! I LOVE your house. It looks so homey and inviting and pretty!

Your tree is adorable, too. You have me wanting to walk through your house, seeing all your pretties, now. It's a good thing I live far away, 'cause otherwise, I might be caught peeking in your windows! ;-Þ

You certainly have a gift for creating all things beautiful, Cindee. :-)

Wow, nice decor. I'm sure that we have some stuff in a box somewhere.... My garage is so full of stuff right now I can't get the ladder under the storage rack I need anyway!

I keep wanting to get some lights on the after Christmas sale so I can make red, white, and blue strandsfor year round use. I want red and blue, I already have clear icicle lights, then I'd alternate them on each strand and hang them on my entry porch. Does that sound completely crazy?

Fantastic!! I saw you posted on my blog earlier and I couldn't wait to come see!! My son is home for his birthday and the 4th. Yea for me.. Everything has your touch and looks so warm. I too want to see more of every room both inside and out. I clicked on the pictures and got a better look which allowed me to see the doorbell==too cute.

Everything around your front entry is well done. I like how the side curtain matches the house. I can see where it is pretty no matter the season.

Love the tree too. Looks like you stenciled bags with the flag which is too clever. I like the look of khaki with red, white, and blue.

You had me going for the longest time with that wisteria over the window. I kept looking at it thinking the wisteria was growing out of the window. Those window boxes were just done recently right? when you redid that room but they look so nice and plush already.

I thoroughly enjoyed this post and Happy 4th to you too. So thankful to our heroes who made it happen both then and now....

Thanks Anna! I basically have primitive Americana in half of my house so decorating for the 4th is pretty easy(-: Primitive Americana is my favorite next to sunflowers(-:
I started off making raggedy anns from patterns I bought online. I buy my patterns then add my own twist to them. A couple cat dolls I made from rabbit patterns. I just cut off their ears shorter. They are always fun to make and they become part of the family. My kids use to think they were weird. I did add the plant shelf on to the outside of my daughters room this spring and planted up a few pots of geraniums. They are doing pretty well there. I have to keep cutting the wisteria back every now and then because it takes over the window.

Cindee you have a good hand for decorating! I admired your handmade dolls. They are all cute and well done , my favourite is the little "irish" girl sitting on its clover leaf. ( I am not irish) I think this is a lot of hand work but I am sure also a lot of fun to do.

I just read your response and the Movie Hope Floats came to mind. Sandra Bullock's character--Birdie--grew up in a house where her father was a taxidermist. Hearing you talk about the fact that your kids thought your dolls were weird made me think of Birdie and all those stuffed animals around her house. I think your dolls are much prettier so tell your kids---well, I could have been a taxidermist.

Hi Cindee!!!!

Oh how I love your home and all of the wonderful decorations! Where do you live in California? We have been affected by all of the smoke and yesterday was especially bad.

Thanks for the visit!!
