I had to laugh when I thought of Fire Marshall Bill Burns. Did anyone ever see Jim Carrey in that skit? To funny... Anyhow this is what it looks like here this morning. Fires burn out of control all around us. Its so smokey I can't go outside. (I have asthma) So I am hanging out with my buddy Jack and granddog today again!!!!
Below are a couple of links re: Fires in California and in and around my area...

I guess it just shows there's beauty to be found in everything.

Cindee, it was very much the same way here yesterday. It even cooled down a bit because of all the smoke in the air and the sunlight had a reddish tinge and yes, quite lovely. Trying to breath on the other hand, with a cold to boot, was not so lovely. I hope your asthma doesn't give you any trouble.

I too have asthma. Even my dog Abi has asthma. Too bad about the fire. Lovely shot, though.

I know what you mean but on a smaller scale than what you are having. NC was having some bad fires too. Your shots are scary pretty. I mean when you know what's causing that haloish look it scares you but there is beauty in it. We lived through the Mt.St. Helen's ash while we were in North Dakota..that was pretty awful too. Are you getting lots of ash?

Hi Renna and Peggy, Thanks for commenting!! It is a pretty glow just the smoke is terrible. I guess I do have to be glad its not here at my house!!!(-:

Lisa, Sorry you have to deal with a cold and the smoke. That is not fun at all!!!!! )-: I am staying inside as much as I can.

Brenda, That is really scary to have a dog with asthma too!!! Its hard enough on humans!!!! Does your dog need to take meds for that?

Melissa, I am hanging in there staying inside where there is no smoke(-: Thanks for commenting!!!

Anna, There was ash falling on Sunday. Today I was not outside so I didn't notice. I went out to take the dogs for a walk a couple times today and watered a couple things that needed attention but other then that I am staying inside.

How close are the fires to you? Having gone through evacuation due to last year's fires, I know having a fire nearby is not a fun time. Many of my friends and neighbors lost their homes. The fire burned to less that a 1/4 mile from my house.

Hope that all is well with you and your property!

Hi Lin,
The closest fire is west of us about 12 miles. It is on the other side of town so we are safely out of reach. Another close fire is north east and its about 20 miles away. I think its contained. The next closest is about 30 miles or so away. Its East of us so again we are pretty far away from that. So far so good. It could change I guess but for now I am not worried. Thanks for writing. Hope all is well with you too.
