Heirloom Phlox

This is another hand me down. This one comes from my great aunt who will be 102 on July 1st! Yikes!!! Anyhow its a very reliable plant and it comes back every year. I have had it at least 18 years here in my garden. Not sure how long its been around in hers. I do not know what the name of it is. It has a pretty white flower tinged in a purple-ish color.

102!! Wow. Very impressive!!

And I love the flowers. My mom has a couple sets from my Great-Grandma. She's telling me that she'll pass them down to me, but I need to work on my green thumb a little more first! :)

It's very pretty, Cindee. I love all varieties of Phlox.

How amazing that your aunt is still living. You have longevity in your genes!

Hi Brenda,
Yeah she still worked in her garden up until about 5 years ago. Crazy! She loves her flowers. She still lives alone at her home. She is sharp as a tac just the body is wearing out.

Thanks outerbanks mom!

Hi Jen,
Thanks for stopping by. Hopefully you get some hand me downs too!!

Thanks Peggy!!

Hi Renna,
Phlox are a really nice summer flower. They seem to just bloom and bloom. Even in the heat. It is amazing to imagine living to be 102!!!

The hand me downs are doing great. Congrats. We are both lucky that we are exposed to that kind of life. We both believe in longevity.

How lovely to have an heirloom phlox from your great aunt. A very happy birthday to her.
She must be an amazing lady to still be living alone at 102!
Thanks for visiting and leaving such a nice comment. Yes, the sciatica is tough. I've had it take up to a year to get better twice before (those were severe bouts. This one isn't as bad, thank the Lord), and varying degrees of it at other times. I'm trying to be careful and not reinjure myself. Thanks for the commiserations :)
The torch flower is so unusual, and very pretty. Glad you were able to get a photo of the open bloom.

I think it's so wonderful that you have so many heirloom plants from your family. My aunt lived to 102 and I'm going for it!
