Grasshoppers love Sunflowers

Yup Grasshoppers sure do love to eat the leaves of my sunflowers. You can see where they have chewed them to pieces in the picture. I guess that is why they didn't grow to tall this year. I did plant a few so maybe some of the other ones will do better. Maybe the grasshoppers will die now that it is so smokey here. They might not be able to breathe with all the smoke and croak. One can only hope(-:

There should be some bright side to all that smoke!

I just love sunflowers, which make me think of 'happy faces'. :-)

Sure hope you're out of harm's way!

Hi Renna, I think the smoke should help too in some way too(-: All that suffering by staying indoors is making me nuts!!! I want to get outside and play with the flowers!!!!The sunflowers do look like smiling faces(-: I love sunflowers!!!!(-:

Brenda, I am still out of harms way here. Today we had a slight wind and it blew a lot of the heavy smokey air away. Fires still burning all over but the wind is keeping the smoke to a min.(-: I am venturing outside sometime to day to see what is happening!!!!

Oh you have sunflowers! Wish I had room for those. Grasshoppers are such little pests!
Take care--hope you are able to get outside soon!

Some of mine have chew marks in them too. Mine are also way behind yours. Sunflowers are my favorite flowers.
